Has anyone any bright ideas where I might get the best deal on a new one ?
Thanks....
Yours (now permanently lost !!),

P.S. I suppose that there are no second hand ones out there are there?

Prolly worth trying ebay.
FYI - you may be able to claim on household insurance if you have any - sometimes its even new for old, so check the policy carefully.
Prolly worth trying ebay.
I'd agree - but make sure that it's a III Pilot. I've seen several non-aviation GPS IIIs go for III Pilot money...
E-Bay auctions that is where I got mine for about £200

One went on E-Bay a few days ago for £150, luck of the draw I guess.

grrrrr, how annoying is that, sorry to hear you had yours stolen, I got into my club aircraft just over a month ago to do the usual A checks and found a nice shiny new Pilot III on the seat, I took it with me to the flying centre and handed it in, I wonder how many people would have done the same for me had it been the other way around :(
And yes definately Ebay :ok:

What were the circumstances of the theft? Taken from your aircraft or car or home?
Just interested.
Infuriatingly, plenty of things 'disappear' from flying clubs - some people seem to think that anything they find is theirs for the taking.

Does the GPS III have a serial number as such? Publishing it here could assist in recovering it.
