Was going to say if Aer Lingus were to add these TATL additions something would have to give elsewhere for the time being. Like pointed out, DAA are not including transit pax, otherwise the total comes to about 33.5 million. I guess that legally the 32mppa cap doesn't specify transit pax so is just a clever workaround they can get away with.
I'm in no doubt it will get overridden eventually, just a question of how long. |

DL announced DTW-DUB, 4 x weekly. A330.
Rumours that there'll be 3 new new TATL routes from EI next year. BNA, RDU and the third is an unspecified A330 route. YYZ is going to the 321 (so far only 1 x daily but a second daily is heavily rumoured, that frees up an A330). Could be anywhere between 3 and 6 XLRs on property by Summer. There's a huge bunfight between the Regulator (IAA) and everyone else. IAA are imposing movement caps etc. Ryanair, Aer Lingus and DAA are taking them to the High Court in 2 separate cases as slot allocation for DUB is done by ACL and Eurocontrol. They have a strong case. The airlines appear to be beginning to ignore the pax cap as a result. Columbus, St Louis are in the running for a Dublin route. So the third route will more than likely be a 321 route. 321 is also covering EI133 Boston from JAN-11 April. |

EI GEY is leaving the fleet. So thats why the 321 is doing YYZ. CVB and CVC are also leaving the fleet next year

Is the bar on entry to airside before 3hrs to ETD only a Ryanair thing? Doesn't that impact lounge usage for work and shopping? Got told to come back later at T1 today.

In Australia for Qantas flights, airport check-in for international flights opens three hours prior to departure and two hours prior to departure for domestic flights. If you have no hold luggage to check-in and have already checked-in online and been issued a boarding pass, you can proceed directly to airside at the airport whenever you like. I understand that the three hour/ two hour restriction for international/ domestic flights is to prevent checked-in luggage piling up before there is an aircraft/gate/plan for loading the departing plane. Without checked luggage in Australia you can make out like the 'terminal man' (who lived at Paris CDG airport for almost 18 years!) and enter airside once you have a valid boarding pass. Qantas online check-in opens 24 hours before the flight. This varies by airline. For Qatar Airways and Emirates, online check-in opens 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. |
No, hand baggage only, wanted to sit down, read, eat, shop and work. Strict three hour cut off for access I was told.

I have noticed that Aer Lingus has removed its Tuesday LAX flights (EI68/69) going into April 25 on it's website. LAX flights were initially due to return to 7 days a week from the 1st April. Would this be due to other routes using the A330 until the A321 XLRs join?

The High Court has agreed to pause the effects of a Dublin Airport passenger cap that was due to imminently affect airlines’ access to take-off and landing slots over the summer 2025 period |
So does this go to Brussels for an EU decision now?

WestJet relaunching YYT-DUB in addition to existing YHZ, YYZ and YYC services.
Aer Lingus, Ryanair, Delta, United, Air Canada, Hainan, Pegasus, Iceland air, Eurowings, Norwegian, TAP, SAS and Turkish have all applied for and been granted additional slots for S25. Whether they use them and what for remains to be seen. |
The slow trickle of airlines taking up slots they were originally denied due the cap continues:
UA have announced a second daily IAD rotation. They’ll be 2 x daily IAD, 2 x daily EWR, 1 x daily ORD in S25. DL and EI are both extending MSP to year round, albeit with reduced winter scheduling: 3 x weekly B763 and 5 x weekly A21N (XLR) respectively for W25. DL had just ignored the cap when they announced DTW which I found highly entertaining at the time. Their court case against the IAA as part of A4A continues. |
and ORD up to 788 from 757. Really a big presence year round outside LHR for UK and Ireland
|
Indeed, the US3 saw the fortune EI were making and are carving a slice for themselves.
AAL: DFW daily B772 (not operating this winter due 787 delivery delays but was previously year round). CLT daily B772. PHL daily B788/9. ORD daily B788/9. DAL: ATL daily A359 summer, B764 winter. JFK daily B764. MSP 5 x weekly B763 summer, 3 x weekly winter. BOS daily B763. DTW 5 x weekly B763. Summer only. UA discussed above. JBU summer seasonal daily JFK & BOS A21N, they wanted to extend the season but were denied slots, we'll see what they do there. Breeze wanted slots and were denied but that could have just been a PR exercise, would have been first scheduled A220 trans-atlantic ops I believe. |
