FlyBe confuse me, and make me think of Estonian Air. Is it a curse of trying to operate a regional airline or the curse trying to be an Embraer operator?
|
Flybe probably had good intentions earlier when they told the market of their 'discipline'.
But reality seems to have taken hold - they couldn't shift aircraft they thought they could. And thus now - all their activity seems to be unravelling previous steps in their frantic race to locate aircraft ANYWHERE just so they are not sitting on the ground doing nothing and costing a fortune. Highlights a lack of understanding or experience at the senior management level in what was actually required to get the airline to that disciplined point. Wish-bone, but no back-bone. |
Revenue-cost of 195 lease =x
Revenue-cost of lease of 195 - cost of lease additional dash 8=y Surely i would rather pay x every month instead of y? |
Waldo 1, that was what I said in my earlier post. The new management started off making an impression to satisfy the City, which is why CEO was able to convince them to contribute £150 million to his begging bowl. He closed bases, made hundreds redundant at a cost of millions and now he is reopening bases and creating " new jobs " very courageous, in effect, he's done, a U turn. The Flybe business model has always been a challenge, they have been close to going under several times, but always managed to pull through, and in my heart, I hope they will be around for years to come and the new management are not " Drinking in the Last Chance Saloon ".

Shuttle
Looking on the Flybe site, and comments on Facebook, does it seem that the JER-SOU-LBA-ABZ Shuttle will be short lived?
Doesn't seem to be bookable after April? |
Hmmm, yes, apparently. Tried to book a flight from ABZ to JER in September today and all I am getting offered are conncetions through MAN etc.
|
I thought its cancellation was previously announced/common knowledge
|
No, I did not know and Google did not produce any results.
Weren't the three legs of the shuttle previously operated routes that were simply linked up and marketed as the "shuttle"? Or was the LBA-ABZ part a new route? Anyway, I guess Eastern will be poppin' a few bottles of bubbly. |
Ceases effective from 27 March ( northbound ) and 28 March ( southbound ).
So long, 'shuttle in the sky'. One-day reprieve on 25th June northbound, not sure what that's about. Can you try booking that for a larf? Edit: yes BEE7002 and 7004 are bookable northbound on 25th June, BEE7002 on 26th June, but nothing southbound on either day. The bizarro world of Flybe! It's like those 'ghost train' services mentioned on another thread... |
The northbound journey, ideal for businessmen who want to relax in their seat and use their laptop etc. sorry, you have to get off at SOU for Customs.......
|
It's just the ABZ legs being dropped from the Flybe Shuttle, not the whole thing. LBA-SOU-JER keeps going.

Yes, BUT for how long ? |
Kcockayne - look at the booking engine and you will find out. Book able through to October at least
And that's still branded as the Flybe shuttle. |
When do FlyBe start at STN?
|
"look at the booking engine and you will find out. Book able through to October at least "
Wouldn't attached too much trust on a flight taking place just because it has been scheduled is bookable. Plenty of examples (especially with FlyBE) where routes were pulled within weeks despite originally bookable for longer. |
The purpose of my post was to highlight the FACT that you can very rarely have any trust in what BEE say, or say they are going to do.
'NM gone today (from the shuttle),'JJ, 'HI or 'NM gone tomorrow ! Who knows......& who can you trust ? |
The stock market don't trust them for sure - shares down to 58p now.
|
Insuindi -
The question was "yes but for how long?" I replied to confirm at least till the end of October. There was an element of sarcasm in my reply because I am getting bored of the Flybe bashing from individuals well past their sell by date, sat in their arm chairs down in the Channel Islands moaning about the one airline that have pretty much remained loyal to the airports all these years offering a number of destinations which others have either failed on or not tried. You along with Kcockayne seem duty bound to do nothing but criticise and moan about Flybe. It is boring, dull and pointless. Rant over |
shares down to 58p now bb |

Maybe so, but what is there that I can trust about BEE ? ( given the inconsistencies of their decisions & actions over the last couple of years ). |
