Dropping Routes
I see FlyBe have axed a number of flights from their SOU schedule with routes dropped or services reduced. Have they overestimated their 'London' operations with STN, SOU & LCY all being used? INV LCY was running at 48% load factor, Winter is always low loads at this time of year, some of the EZY LGW have less than 100 on them over the last week, dont think flybe gave the route time to develop BHX has suffered in the same way as SOU and INV, and I feel sure that despite the alleged sweeteners from MAG, if the STN / BOH routes don't perform quick decisions will be made on those too. It's a sad indictment of today's short term attitudes that routes can't be given time to develop, but the fact remains that FlyBe were in a hole, and the new management has a strategy to get them out of it. Whether it's the right one will come clear during the course of 2015 I feel. |

January is always the lowest time of year for PAX including business, it is a shame it didn't carry on for the summer when it picks up

BFS fire diversion still at the International. Bombardier coming to fix so obviously the fire was a lot worse than 1st thought.
|
24 pax on the 0925 LCY INV flight today!
|
Looks as though Flybe are basing an E195 in MAN during Feb/March, is there any concrete planes for the remaining 5(?) after this summer? Flybe | Corporate | Media | News archive
|
Not sure that "concrete planes" have much of a future
|
Looks like some of the "sunshine route" flights ex-SOU and EXT are now extended to end of Sept (were only to end of Summer hols previously).
|
What happened to the A319's Flybe were getting?
But when/if the E195's are to go, will Flybe not look to had the summer routes over to another operator. I know a lot of people were very disgruntled at the loss, understandably. |
It has been mentioned locally that the three stored E195s at Newquay are to be flown to Exeter for a return to Flybe service.
|
Quite possibly, as far as I'm aware the NQY birds are being kept flight ready by apple aviation at NQY.

Not sure how true that is, last time I operated from Newquay and spoke to an Apple engineer he told me they had been decommissioned and mothballed. That was a few months ago though so I could be wrong. I know we've had issues with FBEM that was brought back into service from NQY, they don't like sitting around in the elements and I guess you can't get much more exposed than Newquay airport.
We've heard nothing internally about routes for 3 more 195s, we are doing sunshine routes from SOU and EXT as mentioned but I think those aircraft have already been allocated. EK77WNCL, Flybe were never getting 319s, where did you get that from? The only time it has ever been mentioned was on here |
Well yeah I got it from here, I take it that had no standing then?
|
Judging by his posts EK77WNCL has quite a 'bucket list'
|
I'm confused what do you mean?
|
EK77WNCL
I think it's quite obvious what he means if you care to look back at your previous posts on here, an imaginative mind for a 16yo aviation enthusiast! |
Flybe E195s
From what I can see - E195s still in service:
G-FBEG - BHX G-FBEH - BHX G-FBEI - BHX G-FBEJ - SOU |
Ok right, but I was asking if it was truth/rumour about the A319's that were supposedly getting.
|
Not sure of true but heard G-FBEN's storage is also temporary. Nice to see these returning to Flybe :)
