The MAN/GLA definitely finishes at the end of the month (June). The memo is on the bmi intranet.

MUFC_fan 8th June 2009 09:23

BE are still heavy on it and will probably up the number of flights.

Would anyone be surprised if I said it was still bookable?
Right hand, left hand, "Hi there!".

SMB-V-Luffty court case

There was an article in the Sunday Times, just a few lines at the end of a piece about BA, that said the BBW partnership (SMB) case in the High Court was to be heard this week or next!! if it gets that far?

You'd think they'd have learnt after the ORD, that was still on sale for a good while after it was announced it was stopping.

stormin norman 8th June 2009 14:36

As Sir Alan sugar would say "A total mess"

McStafa 8th June 2009 16:36

It's bookable right through January next year too. That's a damned shame that is.

Manchester - Glasgow

"The MAN/GLA definitely finishes at the end of the month (June). The memo is on the bmi intranet"

No it doesnt!

the intranet says

"As a consequence of this review bmi regional will be reducing their Manchester to Glasgow service to a single weekday rotation."

So its not stopping! Hence it can still be booked!! Sorry dont mean to p*ss on anyones fire, but if we are going to broadcast whats on the intranet site, lets report what is being said!!!

A single return flight each day means it's being axed. It's a time critical business route for God's sake. Once a day is useless in that market. It's being left to flybe.

noseyboy 8th June 2009 23:04

if its useless, then why have it? why not get rid of it completely?

Not knocking you, but if thats the case why not get rid of it completely? its certainly not slot protection like half of the domestics from heathrow.

Skipness One Echo 8th June 2009 23:28

They will, it would be madness to operate once daily on this route against multiple useful frequencies with flybe.

Boeing Junkie 9th June 2009 15:17

@Skipness One Echo

Am I right in thinking that BD has previous form for chopping routes in this manner? i.e. They reduce it down to a single frequency or rearrange the timings so that they are of no use to anyone who wants to use it on a regular basis for business, and then say that they will axe the route because loads don't support it?

If this is the case it seems nonsensical to behave like this.

Skipness One Echo 9th June 2009 16:25

They did this with the Leeds and Teesside to Heathrow routes but they were slot holders at the London end. There is no such issue here so I have no idea of the rational here.

lexxity 9th June 2009 16:52

It definitely said being suspended last week.

Hello everyone,
I know BMI has a pretty awesome training facility near LHR, Just wondering if the OCC and ops HQ is also in the same place.

Endeavour 15th June 2009 18:38
