Most in bmi couldn't give a stuff about what happens out with LHR, firstly with a pay rise due in a couple of weeks talks on pay for 2012 will be underway there after. So there is plenty of room for deals to be done, but the bmi pilots are wide of the mark to think that there is anything to stop baby crews flying baby airbus, do they really think that the Germans will say OK we want the Airbus but because a group of LHR pilots say no we will buy Boeing's instead!!
NOT A CHANCE There will be no loss of pilots jobs at bmi in fact it will increase with bigger aircraft for LHR I predict that 18 months from now baby will be flying 319/320 in to STN from both domestic and European routes but not LHR, whether bmi will be making money by then is more difficult to call! |
In and out of STN from europe? Isn't that kind of covered already. How many "niches" do baby think they can find?
They'll end up with mainline FOs transferring to baby LHS, wait and see.... You'll get a system like German Wings and Lufthansa Passenger. |
If baby needed type rated pilots they would of course look at suitable mainline pilots, but not on mainline terms and conditions the best they could hope for would be continuous employment but would be on the bottom of any baby seniority list for everything else.
There is no mood in baby for cuckoo's from either pilots or pilot management so there will be no shoe ins |
Hmmm? If only there was a private forum for all the BMI group pilots to bicker behind closed doors, saving the public from thinking we are a bunch of schoolyard children argueing over who is allowed to play with which toys......... oh wait......
|
Absolutely right, what is the matter with these people!
|
Ah now I remember why I didn't bother posting before....it's the pr*ts that think they know it all and waste no time telling others. See you in 3 years and see if things have changed....
|
Jeez, Wolfie has his work cut out trying to get the 3 companies talking to eachother like adults hasn't he...
You do all work for the same company you know, even if the brands might appear a bit different. |
Passenger comments on the new seating

Looks like the passengers arent impressed with the new seating on Lufthansa. |
Aegean to return their 2 daily LHR slot to bmi??
Not sure if anyone has anymore info on this topic but apparently under some agreement Aegean Airlines plans to start using Olympic Airlines LHR slots at the start of the summer schedule as Olympic Airlines have announced that they will suspend their LHR-ATH flights.
This will release 2 slots from Aegean and returned to bmi (most people are guessing). I hope if this is the case then these slots will be put into use to operate some attractive new routes and not just be used as slot fillers to MAN. |
If Bmi are using slot fillers (like 145s to DUB), they don't need two more slots back from Aegan - except for more loss making 145's to Dublin.
|
This is bmi, they'll have some contingency plan in place. I wouldn't be surprised if there was someone else wanted a couple of slots to rent.
|
Wot BMI need in DUB is the night stop back not slot fillers!!!!!
|
Dispatch - Bmi is a logic free zone.
Anyway - looks like Aegan is going to x4 daily |
Actually without the night stop, Dublin *IS* a slot filler.....
|
Well it beats last years randomness of leaving a/c in Dub for days !!
|
Top Dog??
Well somebody somewhere is doing something right...........................................
bmi British Midland International has been ranked as the leading UK airline brand in the 2010 Corporate Reputation Index released by TNS, the leading research company. The study ranks various organisations based on a number of key factors: their business success, favourability, trustworthiness and service quality. bmi achieved the highest score, just ahead of British Airways, out of all the airlines rated in the latest index. bmi’s top ranking was boosted by a strong overall reputation score and success in the key factors as well as having developed a strong reputation with consumers. Joerg Hennemann, Chief Commercial Officer, bmi, commented: “bmi is delighted to receive such a high ranking from airline passengers. To be named top of the 2010 Corporate Reputation Index in areas such as trustworthiness and service underpins the values of the company. “By improving the customer experience and updating our product and services regularly we aim to bring maximum benefit to our valued customers and make travelling with bmi even better.” Tom Costley of TNS said “It is great to see the travel industry performing above average but there is more work to be done, especially when it comes to dealing with customer service issues.” bmi recently announced new routes from Manchester and London Heathrow to Basel starting 27 March and from London Heathrow to Bergen, Stavanger, Marrakech starting on 1 April and to Casablanca starting on 2 April. |
If WW are going to change their fleet it would be an opportunity to start another subsidiary company on less expensive Ts & Cs than WW currently have. There seems to be plenty of low hours pilots in the UK who are willing to pay to be fly airbuses. No need to employ First Officers at all! Come to think of there have been a number of Captains willing to pay for their own training qualifications.
Sounds like a good business model  |
Tail take off's tend not to work out!
Thankfully the management in WW are a little more forward thinking |
There is a bmibaby forum for all this WW talk......
