OK, thanks. The arrivals board at CWL shows it as coming from DLM but this must be a mistake.

More fun and games at Cardiff as the TOM6685 Kos-Cardiff is more than 24 hours delayed.

Details on the delay can be found here. No official response from Thomson as of yet.

Jamie2k9 2nd August 2010 14:06

Over the weekend there was fog in Kos Airport and all flights were delayed by hours and some canceled.

mathers_wales_uk 2nd August 2010 14:41

The aircraft was originally supposed to arrive back last night after it's initial delay. It has now gone from 17:20 today to 00:45 tomorrow.

I understand that if the aircraft had to divert due to bad weather then maybe the crew would require minimum rest etc, but this flight is well over 24 hours delayed and the delay is keep getting strecthed.

There could be several reasons for the extended delay including Technical reasons or possibly Greek ATC playing a part.

KGS-CWL

Looks like the 'fog' is only affecting the Cardiff flight. All others have arrived and departed form KGS as normal today.

mathers_wales_uk 2nd August 2010 15:13

I now looks like the article has been updated with a official response from Thomson.

Looks like it's fog and crew hours thats cause the delay. source

Fog effected flights on Saturday night until mid Sunday morning.

I thought this was a joke, but what on earth is the "Wales Air Network News Centre"?!

Its obviously a busy facility given that a Thomson delay is headline news!

mathers_wales_uk 3rd August 2010 07:48

The Wales air network news centre has aviation news from around Wales. It's part of the Wales air network group. These are all volunteers with no funds.

The ambition of these guys is to have a better aviation industry in Wales.

Don't knock them cause someones got to try.

Over 100 people a day visit the news centre. They had regular advice on volcanic disruption and goldtrail incident.

PeterP 3rd August 2010 21:46

BigDaddy:

A daily news service of several stories dealing with local industry interest run by volunteers should be welcomed rather than sneered at. After all, what are you personally doing that is constructive rather than giving you the chance to promote your own views?

Re: your real identity

Mr Gittins, most PPRuners know I'm a former CWL head of department. However you, as a current and influential figure at the airport, continue to post here as though you are at arms-length. Surely it is time for you to come out so that readers know where you are really coming from?:hmm:

Leodis 4th August 2010 22:11

Another forum I frequent suffers some what from spamming attempts by this so called "Wales Air Network" fraternity site for welsh sheep farmers.:}

ericlday 5th August 2010 06:40

If its welsh sheep farmers it would be 'Lambing' not 'Spamming'

Firestorm 5th August 2010 07:09

Are they trying to pull the wool over someone's eyes?

plaincrazy 6th August 2010 12:54

Austrian Airlines

According to Thomson ski website, this years INN flights are going to be operated by Austrian Airlines. :ok:

PeterP 7th August 2010 20:37

Wales Air Network does not spam. In general, the organisation has no need to: other sites tend to talk about its content (and nick it occasionally!)

Sheep jokes? Think you are the first? Enjoy Rhod Gilbert here:

YouTube - ‪Rhod Gilbert Part 1‬‎

and then realise how unoriginal you are.

Interesting that Mr. Gittins hasn't responded!

mrgittins 7th August 2010 21:26

Response ?

As I haven't posted for a while here, I am at a loss to understand your exact position here.

I also fail to understand your current status of being an ex post holder from CWL has any bearing here????

PeterP 7th August 2010 21:30

My view is that self-interest like yours should be admitted on this forum. Of course, PPruners have the right to be anonymous. However, many of your posts are so connected with your CWL role that you should reveal yourself if you are to be honest with us.

PPRuNe Pop 8th August 2010 12:45

Like so many times in the past, there is a hint of a 'war' in the air on this CWL thread. Anonymity is sacro-sanct on PPRuNe providing the person does not inflame, abuse or break the rules. There is the PM system and I suggest that if you want to discuss something we might otherwise moderate you had better clear the air.

Please take note.

AA&R mods

PeterP 8th August 2010 22:30

Thanks for that ... Mr Gittins and I are PM'ing. On the other hand, mods, could you do something about the sheep nonsense ... particularly in a Welsh thread?
