Despite the improvements already seen, if Luton's not careful, it could miss the boat! :uhoh: |
Thomsonfly starting Luton-Marrakech wef 3/11/06. 4 x weekly.

I thought the expanded baggage hall was finished months ago. Is that not the case ebenezer? More importantly, the bags took even longer than usual to come through. The times for bag deliveries have been getting steadily worse over the last three years. |
powerjet1, I have just spotted this, certainly an alternative destination for the winter.

If anyone is wondering what is behind the boarded up area at the old outsize baggage x-ray machine by check-in desk 1(Ryanair), I can now reveal the facts. Would you believe it if I said that there were 10 yes 10 new check-in desks complete with baggage belts. The new desks are at a right angle to the existing desks so queuing for check-in is going to become very interesting as the lines of people are going to cross. The 10 new desks end by the bar so if there are more than 10 people in a queue it will block access to departures for that end of the terminal.
Has Luton taken on too much business? The queue to the terminal tonight started at the roundabout of the A505. |
How can that possibly work ? It sounds like chaos in the making. One minute people are in a queue for Nimes, turn through 90 degrees and end up at the front of the queue for Zagreb. Will this now give 70 check-in desks.
I thought the future was self-service/online check-in. Thomsonfly starting Marrakech 4 x weekly in November, isn't that a little on the high side. Would have thought 2, maybe 3 weekly would have been sufficient. |
Will this now give 70 check-in desks |
The new desks are for the self-service/online check-in bag drops apparently

Anyone else noticed the new boundary fence that is being installed in connection with the new road into the airport. The fence starts at the top of the embankment by the A505 and is now extending across the midterm car park towards the ibis hotel.
|
Yes - it seems that the road from the upgraded 'East Luton Corridor' will actually be running to the rear of the warehouses and industrial units on the south side of the existing Airport Way i.e. between the 'cliff face' and these buildings (for which the terminally short-sighted Luton Borough Council should never have granted planning permission anyway).
The planned changes to the road layout within the airport complex will if actually achieved, certainly be innovative and a triumph of civil engineering. :ok: |
Thomsonfly to Marrakesh
Is this a scheduled service or not?
Same time, same flight number on all 4 days it operates. The Thomson website shows ALC, IBZ, AGP, RAK, PMI and TFS as destinations on the 'flights' page. Are these scheduled too? I know the boundaries are becoming very blurred, but the CAA still show their pax and movements statistics as either echeduled or charter. What will these show up as? |
They should all be scheduled services.

LTN seems to have 11 flights departing this morning to Tel Aviv & Ovda operated by a mix of MON, Excel, My Travel, Thomsonfly, Flyjet etc. Anyone would think it was easter !!! Good for the pax nos though.

its a football match
on the west bank new pitch, grand opening. Windy
|
Football match, perhaps I missed the irony? It's actually Pesach (Passover) on Thursday.
Can anyone update me on the road traffic situation? Not used LTN since the roadworks started but need to be there about 06:00 next Friday. Should I allow extra time? |
Airport management reporting that LTN will see 115,000 pax over the four day easter period(14th to 17th), up 15% on easter 2005. STN expecting 250,000 over the same period.
