Re: Bad News for Airport

You could at least have put up the darned URL rather than copy that particular article of mine verbatim. Forums such as this aren't exempt from the rules of plagiarism don't ya know? (And my contract with Suite101 says my content needs to be original on the web) :p

The article has been modified due to the news at lunchtime and is now available at this link here:

Palmair Cancels Winter Flights From Bournemouth Airport

Please link through rather than copy and paste. It'll save me a headache trying to explain to TPTB....

Re Palmair winter Scheules

Whats all this about

If a Tour company dont want to operate a winter Sked due to the economy so be it

Best they say no as opposed to issuing silly winter prices and return next summer than go bust in Mid Winter

WELL DONE

If the punters dont like it HARD LUCK Book with Jack Maroocie tours for the winter and 1 Hour before you depart they go bust

GET REAL PEOPLE Palmair are obvioulsy caring pepole with a name to live up to (Pity all Tour operators are not the same)

I would book Palmair without hesitation

SamD....apart from the desire to keep it in the family:p

I think a BOH-LDE winter ski route would be an absolute winner...you could go head to head with FR out of STN...

Jerboy

AFAIK the flight deck crew are Astraeus, the cabin crew are Palmair.(And great to fly with too!)

BBC News - Palmair loses aircraft to save money

Fly4Fun 20th Dec 2010 11:56

Any news regarding Palmair operations?

Happy landings

Siggyboy 20th Dec 2010 13:05

What i know...plane has gone....staff reduced to Three!!...have some seats on Thomsons based Aircraft for spring, not sure about rest of summer. Was rumour of sharing an aircraft with Thomas Cook for the summer but doubt that will happen now.

Fly4Fun 20th Dec 2010 14:25

Well, no good news for Palmair indeed.
I saw on Palmair website that they only have 2 destinations for this winter.
Just pure curiosity, do you think that a smaller aircraft like the E190 would be a good solution for Palmair? Just crossed my mind that with a plane like the E190, with no middle seat and low operating costs, they could advertise for a good product on the charter market, as they usually do.

Rainboe..now there`s a blast from the past..I do remember he never sat on the fence when it came to giving his viewpoint..Always liked reading his posts. I have often wondered what happened to him, haven`t seen his posts on here for years now..Wonder if `Where are they now ` thread might also bring some response.
