So Luton Council wins a major award regarding its airport. Well done the council.

Major!, looks like a 9 year olds web site project.
Can't see Roman Abramovich's jets in tomorrow to watch the big game! |

Someone at the LRT press office seems to be feeding the news outlets with a few porkies. The claim is that the “30 minute” shuttle bus journey will be replaced with a Dart journey that will take under two minutes.
According to Thameslink the journey takes six minutes and according to LRT the Dart will do it in just under four minutes. "The DART transit will run from Luton Airport to Luton Airport Parkway Station and will cut down journey times from Luton Airport to central London to about 30 minutes, replacing the current shuttle bus." |

According to Thameslink the journey takes six minutes and according to LRT the Dart will do it in just under four minutes. It is also described as seamless, which it isn’t, as the same ticketing arrangements will remain. Interesting comment that the Dart will open later on in the year so it looks like the delayed opening for Easter is also going to be missed. It looks nice in the photos though and seems almost complete. https://www.bedfordshirelive.co.uk/n...amless-6728043 |
I posted accurately. The article has been rewritten since I posted. Maybe they read Pprune

The newspaper article was substantially altered from the originally provided link. The story did state that the bus took over 30 minutes and the Dart will take less than two. I have tried to find a cached version but can't.
Buster link https://ciltuk.org.uk/News/Latest-Ne...ts-to-Net-Zero The airport owner, Luton Rising has committed to a Net Zero target and will achieve Net Zero ground operations by 2040. London Luton Airport will invest in the development and implementation of decarbonisation technologies. This will include operations, next-generation aircraft, engines, and fuel as well as different kinds of sustainable aviation fuels. |
Manx - I also read the article as originally mentioned by LTNman and it was as he described...
The greenwashing award is the only award LBC totally deserve! |
Blimey! Come on The Hatters! Definitely going to need more parking stands soon on match days.

Ryanair confirmed 6 based units for S22, can't work out if that is an increase in S19?
|
Ryanair had 6 based airframes in 2019 - so back to where we were.

I thought all the East Europeans had gone home?
Anyhow the much greener German Government is talking about turning up the switches on their coal burning power stations so that will save us! Anyhow this is a worldwide problem and hardly warnts comment on a Luton thread. |
EZY running 10 GVA flights tomorrow, that is the same as their much larger LGW operation!
|
Passenger numbers
Is there anyway of finding out how many passengers are on certain flights. Obviously the manifest of names will never be in the public domain, but just general numbers per flight

So Leeds Bradford has abandoned its plans for a new £150m terminal after its plans were called in by the government.
Meanwhile at Luton and after borrowing £517m that has yet to add a single passenger the council presses on while calling the proposed near doubling of passengers green growth. It is fortunate that LRT has the council as its banker is it would be bankrupt by now. |
