These operators and routes tend to go round in cycles. Everyone piles on to the same destination for a few seasons, then most pull out. I guarantee Sun Express and Correndon wont be there in same shape in a few seasons
(and not unique to NCL).

Corendon will most likely start Greek flights like they do from Manchester and Gatwick too and have already expressed an interest in expanding routes from the UK

According to Wikipedia... Vueling ceases Paris-Orly on the 15th July.22.

We must consider that pre-pandemic, Thomas Cook Airlines represented a huge amount of capacity between UK airports and Turkey / Greece for the leisure market. They didn't do much to Spain. If those countries want to attract UK tourists in similar numbers going forward, someone has to backfill that lost volume of airseats. The Turkish carriers have taken on that challenge. With Thomas Cook gone, there is a gap for them to fill. TUI and Jet2 can only do so much. They don't need to reinvent the market. Just pick up some of those customers displaced by the loss of Thomas Cook Airlines.

Chatting to a crew member today on a flight into LCY I was told that BA CityFlyer will be operating a charter series between NCL and SALZBURG.....sorry, no further details were given.

Yes, that's correct. It will be on behalf of TUI Lakes and Mountains. They have operated GLA-SZG charter flights for several years now. The aircraft will operate GLA-SZG-NCL-SZG-GLA on Saturdays. Think this is the first time they have operated the NCL route, in the past it has been operated by TUI and before that flybe.

Flightrider 25th May 2022 18:30

Correct, BA CityFlyer E190 operating:

Saturdays 28May-03Sep
BA4521 GLA-SZG departs 0740
BA4524 SZG-NCL arrives 1330
BA4523 NCL-SZG departs 1500
BA4522 SZG-GLA arrives 2040

10Sep operates GLA-SZG-GLA only

beedoubleu 26th May 2022 09:38

BA Cityflyer did have a Saturday lunchtime W rotation service from NCL in 2011 and pretty sure this was also SZG.

It would appear that reports of the demise of Vueling's ORY-NCL route from mid-July may be incorrect. Flights remain on sale after 15th July and appear to run now until 9th September.

Hopefully Teesside's management look at these statistics and can see where their passengers want to fly to as its quite obvious.

Mmm, that doesn't sound very encouraging. But lots of Turkey overkill generally (a bit like Christmas)

Asturias56 2nd Jun 2022 07:30

who would ever have thought you'd have more passengers to Dubai than to Paris? The world has certainly changed!!
