Wideroe
Wideroe are adding a 3rd flight Bergen-Liverpool-Bergen, as of November the extra flight will run on Sundays.
|
Alsie Express are running a charter over the weeked of 8/11 November from Sonderborg in Denmark. Sonderborg has a metro population of about 75,000 so definitely not a large city. Alsie normally fly shuttles back and forth between Sonderborg and either Copenhagen or (in summer) the Danish holiday island of Bornholm, which is a bit like a Danish version of the Isle of Wight
Liverpool are playing at home to Manchester City on 9 November, so presumably aimed at the football crowd. Publicly available match tickets seem to have all sold out so this might have an effect on demand for flights... ! |
There seems to be quite a bit of interest from Scandinavia for flights to Liverpool for football. Charters are quite regular, plus there is the Wideroe service from Bergen, which will increase this winter.

The weekly Adria service to Ljubljana switches from Manchester to Liverpool in 2020 and increases to 2 x weekly
|
Adria
Good to see another Eastern European route from Liverpool.
|
MAN-LPL switch on a CR9.... Mmm, we'll see if that lasts |
And the underlying statistics backing up your post are what, Cabin Crewe? Please advise how many passengers using the MAN - Ljubljana would be averse to using LPL- Ljubljana given the short distance between the two airports? |
The passengers will certainly get a better airport experience, thats for sure.

Why would you say that !? .
Oh, hold on; last night's Adria Ljubljana to Vienna, with 38 booked on it, was cancelled because on arrival, the Austrian authorities were going to impound the aircraft for non-payment of EU261. Yes, Adria really is that much of a basket case right now. Adria Airways had yesterday at the last minute to cancel an evening flight from Ljubljana to Vienna. Reason? At the finish they waited for bailiffs and police officers who were trying from our airline to recover outstanding debts. But the plane never arrived in Vienna. |

I got the implication that rearranging the deck chairs was in no way going to help the airline get out of what looks like terminal woes (excuse the pun...)

It's been announced today that Peel and Liverpool City Council have sold a combined 45% stake in Liverpool Airport (35% Peel, 10% LCC). The buyer is a London-based infrastructure investment manager, Alcana.
Peel and Liverpool City Council sell 45% stake in Liverpool Airport Will be interesting to see if this leads to any release of funds for additional investment in facilities. |

Doesn't seem to be a lot of airport experience.

Other than making life difficult for them by putting up effin great turbines next door. |

For connoisseurs of old props, there will be no fewer than four Ukrainian registered AN12s at Liverpool by 14.30. Two are due out by 16.00 so photo opportunities are limited. One is AOG, freight carried thought to be motor parts. Thoughts are with their colleagues who lost their lives in Ukraine earlier today. |
Lauda
Laudamotions new Liverpool to Vienna route began this evening. It operates twice weekly.

Passenger on wrong EasyJet flight causes Liverpool Airport security scare Passengers were forced to disembark from a plane and wait alongside it while it was searched after a traveller boarded the wrong jet by mistake. The man had been due to travel from Liverpool to Belfast with EasyJet at 07:40 GMT but instead boarded the 07:40 flight to Jersey. The security error, which one passenger called "pathetic", meant the Jersey flight was delayed by about 25 minutes. EasyJet said it was investigating how the mistake had happened. But it is yet another reminder to all carriers that Pax just can't wait to use their phones to tell the world what happened and, conseqeuntly, the need to be ready to respond in a mature fashion. |
I wouldn’t say neither airline or airport responded in non mature manner. |
Off at John Lennon

Two new routes announced today for Summer 2020: easyJet to Antalya Lauda to Zadar |
Good to hear. : - )
|
4 Wizz Air routes from LPL are to be A321 for 2020, Budapest being an A321neo.
|
Oslo is a very frequent charter into Liverpool, seems to me this could easily move to a scheduled service, possibly a good choice for Wideroe to add.
|
First visit of EMB Praetor 500 from Stansted today at 11.15hrs
|
IOM
Looks like Loganair will take over Flybe's LPL-IOM route.
|
Wideroe is still operating Bergen - Liverpool - Bergen at present. I thought they may have postponed services with current situation, plus they carry quite a bit of football traffic.
|
easyJet aircraft to LPL for storage
All 7x BFS based easyJet aircraft are planned to position to LPL today for storage (1x A319/6x A320) |
Wideroe
Wideroe have been operating their Bergen to Liverpool schedule over the Easter period on Good Friday Easter Sunday and today. There now appears to be a gap until August........but who knows. Wizzair's flights stopped recently, Loganair to IOM persists twice a day using E145s. All passenger operations while the Corvid19 restrictions continue have moved from the main terminal building to the XLR terminal . You access this by turning right at the airport roundabout rather than more usual left.
|
So why would Wideroe be operating flights over Easter, essential travel for those that can’t travel to holiday homes in the UK?
