G-RJXF began operating on behalf under its new reg of G-SAJC making it the 2nd aircraft transferred.

LM have updated there schedule and they are now planning to base 2 ER3’s at NWI from 31MAR. Schedule previously showed 1 ER3 and 1 SF3 as operating from 31MAR to 31MAY with the 2nd ER3 previously not scheduled to arr until 01JUN.

Do BM own all 3 of the remaining ER3’s?.

Looks like Flybmi have reduced the LDY-STN-LDY rotation to 1 a day instead of the normal 2 a day for a few days in January.

Started today the 9th and other dates are below. No doubt they have identified those as quiet days but regardless this was supposed to be a business friendly service and on those 4 days there is no chance of a day return. It appears to be only the evening flight running.

I wonder how this fits in with the rules (if any) of the PSO obligation?

No Scodaman. I do often wonder if you read relevant threads or postings!

This has already been covered. However: as they ADDED flights prior to Christmas, they have to reduce flights post-Christmas to balance the numbers under PSO rules.

I do often wonder if you get out of the wrong side of the bed every day.

Interesting, I didn't real that there are restrictions on adding frequency. It makes some sense if extra rotations cannot be added, as the whole point of a PSO is that the route not a commercially viable service. However adding more rotations is much less risky & costly for an airline than starting a new route. It could be argues that adding frequency makes the route less likely to require support in the future. Or you could argue that private operators are "pocketing millions". Depends on the headline!

I know that Stobart were up to three times daily on Kerry-Dublin, with one of the frequencies at their own commercial risk. Seems to be back to twice daily at the moment though.

Question about BM’s Lease Agreements

Was wondering if anyone knows the answer to a couple of questions I have regarding the lease agreement BM have/had with Brussels Airlines, Eastern Airways and Nordica.

Brussels Airlines

A couple of months ago I posted that flights between BRS and BRU currently operated/marketed by BM and codeshared with SN and SN’s flights to HAJ, NTE and SXB operated by BM were showing as being operated by SN using a WX RJ85 in the S19 schedule. BM operated/marketed flights between BRU and NUE are now also showing as operated by SN using a WX RJ85 for S19.

A couple of replies mentioned that the RJ85 could be being used as a place holder and could be updated in the future. With 10 weeks to go until the S19 schedule begins, could this still be the case?

Eastern Airways

BM have been operating flights between ABZ and NWI on behalf of T3/BE since mid February, with BE’s website stating that the flights are operated by BMI Regional on behalf of Eastern Airways.

I just made a booking for late March and noticed that flights after 30MAR19 are showing as operated by Eastern Airways, with no mention of BM.

Does anyone know if the current lease agreement is scheduled to end prior to S19?.

Nordica

BM had for a number of years and until recently operated a ER4 on behalf of Nordica. The last flight I can find that BM operated was back in mid December. Has this lease now ended?.

Wasn't that airframe for Nordica's Groningen operation to MUC and CPH? The routes were axed on Dec 29 by Nordica and since mid-December Nordica operated the last few remaining flights with its own metal (CR7).

Mayve there’s been a bit of a stretch in fleet capacity. G-JOTR has been drafted in a bit over the last few weeks and ES-ACI (ironically of Nordica) operates BM8400 a few days ago.

BRS-GOT route cut with immediate effect...!

From the schedule (BRS-GOT Mon and Thurs; GOT-BRS Tues and Fri), this was clearly a positioning flight linked to something else. I understand bmi has been operating a twice-weekly charter flight between Gothenburg and Lyon (automotive-industry IIRC) so I assume that this charter contract has gone away, and with it the reason for BRS-GOT as well.

LDY-STN PSO to be extended and LDY-MAN

Any news on the MANLDY service? Also, any substance to the rumour of 6/7 aircraft off to LM in the not too distant future?

LDY-MAN... Nothing new...

Loganair... I heard it’s only another 2 more for the time being, one ER3 and one ER4

I don't know what to think about this, I've only heard this within the last few minutes from a friend...

G-RJXE/XP and EMBN are all going to NWI as we speak.

I have called him out on Twitter for irresponsible reporting along with a BBC reporter. He can't just run exclusives like this without stating sources.

Maybe a long fetch because I don't know how this would work but maybe its because a European AOC hasn't been granted and won't be before BREXIT? Seems a bit early for this however.

Edit: Tried to "book" a flight from Londonderry but was met with a warning.

toledoashley 16th Feb 2019 16:45

Looking at the Companies House records, there was a change of address of Loganair’s offices at Glasgow (which on the face of it isn’t unusual), but the accounts are overdue and the last recorded accounts from 2017 showed a loss.

Got the same when selecting Derry-Stansted and also Bristol-Aberdeen and a few others. Not looking good at all.
