Interesting. Wonder how they are being crewed? From what I understand with MT it was SmartLynx pilots and MT cabin crews. Now the crews are unemployed I guess SmartLynx are using their own cabin crew? What I I don’t understand is why ZT codes are being used? Unless Titan are subcontracting the work out to SnartLynx as I can’t imagine they have enough flex in their own fleet to manage all the extra work from the CAA/MT? Very complex. |

I'm led to believe by ex Thomas Cook cabin crew who have either been taken on on temporary contracts by Titan Airways or are doing it as volunteers.

Smartlynx has sent over 5 sets of crew, both cabin and cockpit, to operate the two planes on behalf of Titan. I was told Titan where going to look to place one cabin crew member on each flight if possible. |
Don't know how this is worked by Titan flight numberswere also used by many operators during the Monarch repatriation.

It’s not a temporary airline. They are flights operated by the individual airlines. Some using ZT/AWC flight numbers as the CAA have given them a contract to repatriate passengers. Air Europa did a flight from Lanzarote last night on their own AOC. Malaysia Airlines are using their own AOC for the flights their operating at Manchester. |
Ok, thanks for putting me right. Question was rhetorical really.

Is Titan using former Monarch aircraft to operate TC rescue flights? |

Air India from Stansted Nov 2019
Hi all, in light of the sad news regarding Thomas Cook, I have come across this link suggesting Air India are to start flights from November 2019.
I am not sure of the validity of the report but just sharing. Link - times of india |
Air India
Just looked at their website and Stansted is currently not loaded. Also looked at Heathrow to Amritsar and no direct flights are loaded their. IMHO I’d find it unlikely to happen in November as with no flights loaded. The initial couldn’t be full. But crazier things have happened in aviation. Say that Ural still haven’t loaded their flights to their website. I have been hearing rumours at work that Stansted was looking at securing direct flights to India, but what I had heard it was likely to be Indigo or Flypop (If they actually start) |
Air India. Seems very short notice to be starting a new route. Brilliant news for Stansted, However no official news from Air India nor Stansted Airport as yet. |

Fantastic news if it does come to fruition, and a nice addition to STN's portfolio. STN and MAG have really been pushing hard for long haul as of late, so am hopeful that we'll see the carrier come to the airport. Yet I cant help but be surprised of Air India's sudden interest in STN- surely if they were looking to expand their presence in London, they would seek to acquire additional slots at LGW first (and with the recent demise of TCX, this may only make the case more likely with additional slots now available). I guess there must be a strong catchment area for AI to support a STN service.

Air India
Either STN or LGW would mainly be relying on O&D traffic as their are limited codeshare/connecting flights at either. STN has SK to CPH and LGW has a couple other Star Alliance TAP and Croatian. Must say when ever I see arriving and departing passengers on the Emirates flights there are always passengers flying to or from India via Dubai. Plus their is a large population of Indians within north London. |
Air India This was posted on a Facebook post I saw: Times and flt numbers are as follows taken from runway slot set up. All ops as AI165/166 . Amritsar code is ATQ. Days are 1/4/6, not 1/2 /4. DAY1 ARR 0630/DEP 0920. DAY4 ARR 0630/DEP 0805. DAY6 ARR 0630/DEP 0915. TYPE B788. Appears to be starting Saturday 2nd Nov. 1st week seems to be then missing out Monday 4th then from 7th starts it's full days 1/4/6 3x weekly schedule. |
