I was wandering if there is any news regarding the new arrivals terminal. I have not been able to visit STN for a while now but I had read on news sites that work was due to commence during spring of this year.

They have started outside the arrivals exit, lots of cones and barriers. Awkward if you are trying to get to the bus stands as you have to go straight across the road, along until parallel with departures entrance and cross back over.

Didn't notice any work inside as yet.

No works have started directly in the arrivals terminal so far.
Works begun on a temporary security extension onto the terminal forecourt.
Continue extension of the new check-in concourse.
New toilet blocks being built landside and airside.
Continuing work to a new baggage deliver system.
New footpath and access to green and blue car parks to begin soon.
New green multi storey car park almost complete.

Other smaller and less noticeable works also in progress.

Stansted - Rodez

I have a feeling that Ryanair's Stansted-Rodez route is either receiving massive levels of marketing support... or it is causing concern in Dublin. Fares at short notice out of STN on multiple dates are less than APD and the load factor on the flight I took was a long way from what Ryanair usually achieve at STN. The only date that a flight from STN has anything that looks remotely profitable... is just before the August bank holiday when yields should be extremely high. The route seems to have a large number of retired Brits who have either moved to France or have a second home there - faced with a 2+ hour drive to Toulouse, this crowd can easily afford fares costing more than 10 pounds one way

As a summer seasonal route, it finishes for 2019 at the end of September. I would be surprised if it returns for summer 2020

Jet2 seem to have posted their winter schedule, but unlike last winter, Stansted-Lleida no longer seems to be available. Neilson Ski holidays seem to be using Thomas Cook Airlines from Gatwick to take people to Andorra and are not offering holidays that originate at Stansted
Scheduled fares on Stansted-Lleida were very low last winter, so I'm guessing this route might not be returning

to be honest I am shocked, I use the airport most weeks and there are rarely queues at security …. or Starbucks for that matter. There are also seats to sit down. none of that was the case last year s I assumed that there were less people this year.

mariofly12 11th Jun 2019 23:48

I just passed this afternoon on a Jet2 flight and the security queues were endless..And inside the seating area it was packed..You could barely find 2 seats to rest..Could be because i was flying at peak time with lots of U2,FR,LS departures plus EK closely

NLC1072 12th Jun 2019 02:17

Last month I went through and the security staff were stopping people from entering the security area as the queues were so long!

Very rare to see G-OOBG from MAN operating out of STN today replacing the normal Titan 320.

Even more rare could be the 767 operating tomorrow for Tui, based on info from Flight Radar which isn’t always correct.

Air India BOM-EWR turned back over Ireland and escorted to Stansted by fighter jets, I’m hearing due to a bomb threat.
Stansted seeing a lot of military acting lately.

SAS look to be ending there flights From STN at the end of S19 as flights are no longer available to book after October. Does anybody know why this might be or how well the flights have been doing.
