Emirates today announced the launch of a second daily flight from Dubai (DXB) to London Stansted (STN) starting 1 July, 2019.

As with the first, the second daily flight to Stansted will also be operated by Emirates’ ‘game changing’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration with 6 private suites in First Class, 42 fully-flat beds in Business Class and 306 seats in Economy Class.

The aircraft offers customers an enriched travel experience across all cabins with newly designed seats and upgraded inflight entertainment systems. Customers will also enjoy new levels of comfort with fully enclosed private suites in First Class as well as refreshed Business and Economy Class cabins.

Beginning 1 July, the first daily flight from Dubai to London Stansted will operate as EK65, departing Dubai at 0900hrs and arriving in London Stansted at 1330hrs. The return flight, EK66 will depart London Stansted at 1500hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0105hrs the following day. The second daily flight from Dubai to London Stansted will operate as EK67, departing Dubai at 1415hrs and arriving in London Stansted at 1845hrs. The return flight, EK68 will depart London Stansted at 2110hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0710hrs the following day.

I hadn’t appreciated the current timings aren’t the best for return onward connections, although they’re decent for Oz/NZ, South Africa, Bangkok and Bali. The second flight will however really open up India/Bangladesh/Pakistan, Africa and SE Asia from STN and further expand Australia.

Absolutely brilliant news for Stansted and a real boost for the airport. This is showing Stansted’s potential and that it can support long haul travel and is not just a low cost hub.

Emirates making better use of the aircraft with quicker turnaround times and not having the plane sitting on the ground here for a long period.
Also good to see that they will be using the newest cabin design B77W on the new flights as well shows their is a demand for the First Class product and not just Business and Economy.
Hopefully an announcement will be made shortly about the possibility of the Emirates Lounge opening in Satellite 1.

Has anyone got anymore info on the LionAir Rumour ?

I’ve seen they have A330-900N on order but looking at the maximum distance of the aircraft would not reach Stansted from Jakarta or Bali.
I’ve asked a few friends at work and from other companies and no one has heard anything as of yet.

Yes they still do, though it’s used as a spare most off the year and then on Hajj flights during the Hajj flight periods.

Lion Air’s subsidiary Thai Lion Air also has 2 A330-900 on order. Those could probably make it from Bangkok.

Now that would be interesting if it was ThaiLion.
I know when Eurowings offered long haul connections through Cologne that quite a few passengers would be on connections to Bankgkok and Phuket. Also I have seen and spoke to a number of passengers flying with Emirates to Thailand.

Great news on EK going double daily. And with First Class suites at the pointy end. Who said there’s no money to be made in the Premium offerings at London’s third airport and that it’s just perceived as a loco hub? Times are changing hopefully.
It’ll certainly be my first choice going eastbound from now on.

Suspect Titan might be getting quite a bit of business from TUI in the near future.

Summer season Quickly approaching, Titan will be tied up very soon with the likes of Jet2.

All three A321’s are to be leased to Jet2 and all based at Stansted for the the summer.
