Emirates flight number changes

EK33 changes to EK65
EK34 changes to EK68
Does this mean that emirates will operates an additional flight from STN?

EK34 DXB 09:30-1320 STN
EK68 DXB 08:30-1220 STN

Two off the same bank? Odd way of doing things!

Not two flights.

The EK68 replaces the EK34.

The suspicion is is that this is to make way for a double daily service by winter 19/20.

Emirates are going double daily and think of an 'African king of the jungle' SE Asia daily service next year.

daz211 8th Mar 2019 18:48

Brilliant news on Emirates :ok: do we know if the A380 or B777 will operate the 2nd flight ?
and a Daily SE Asia must not be sniffed at.

The second daily EK service is inevitable, but what’s your source Buster? I don’t see it anywhere yet in writing?

Lion Air too? From and when? Pure speculation or fact?

Be good if either are true.

daz211 8th Mar 2019 20:46

Lion air seems a bit random but I guess it’s better than being predictable.
If I remember correctly don’t Lionair have a few A330s and one B744 ? Would be nice to see the 747 at Stansted.

STN406 8th Mar 2019 20:55

In regards to Emirates, I was under the understanding from Emirates Representatives and Swissport Staff at Stansted we would have an official announcement around the original launch date. I have heard it will be two class high density B77W when it is launched. The same as we had on the additional flights over the Christmas period.
I would also love to know a source if you’ve heard differently.

In in terms of Lion ?? I thought they where ‘EU Banned’ (Please don’t start a brexit argument) I personally think Air Asia X would make a return to Europe before Lion Air would start flights.

SWBKCB 9th Mar 2019 08:16

Accoriding to Wiki, the ban on Lion Air was lifted in 2016. They've got 3 A.330's

wowzz 9th Mar 2019 12:38

Sorry if this question has previously been answered, but can STN actually handle an A380 at the moment? Assuming the answer is no, would the investment required be worthwhile for one A380 movement per day?

Festive Extra’s
ARR/DEP

21/12 432/431
03/01 413/430

Yet again amazing figures for these flights. No matter how you look at it Emirates are absolutely smashing with this service. I believe most flights are full of cargo as well.
The configurations for these planes are...
EK33/34 6F 42B 306E. 354 total
EK2634/2644 42B 386E. 428 total

Highly appropriate with the talk of the second service starting as the provisional figures for January show Stansted 17386 which is an average of 272 per flight and load factor of 78% and considering some of the loads quoted above it would indicate plenty of seats available later in the month.

I believe the number of rotations was 64 as an extra operated on 3/1/19 and the usual aircraft is 354 seats (2 class on the extra) not 360 like EDI & GLA. November was 73% and October 74% giving average load factors in three of the last four months although September was incredible (90%). Therefore do we assume forward bookings are brilliant or yields are better than the established Emirate services in the UK?

I remember Manchester was pushing regular 90% plus load factors for months on end (dropped a little recently) and all they got was an a change from 517 to 615 seats on the morning service. Although I suppose you could turn that around and say it proves that Emirates know exactly what they are doing as they resisted the temptation to add the 4th service and loads have settled at around 80-90%.

Point of note on Emirates in January they were all very similar in the regions 77-81% so across aboard they were average.

Pete

Yes the Runway, Taxiways and Aprons and Stands can handle the A380. But I believe down to health and safety for a regular service of a A380, the airport has to have a two or three airbridge gate to operate.

will be 777. Emirates make a load from the belly cargo and A380 at STN is a pain in the rear for all concerned
