Surely they are Stobart adverts?

tws123 23rd Jan 2017 19:44

Sorry, SWBKCB you are right, I should have clarified that I was referring to the Stobart/Flybe franchise not solely Flybe .

Bee using SAS callsign

Does anyone know why Flybe have changed ATC callsign from BEE to SAS? Seems to be all their flights to Aberdeen today are being flight planned using the SAS callsign.
I guess it was a flight planning issue as all the SAS Callsigns been cancelled and replaced with the normal BEE callsigns

I see Flybe are proposing to sell 3 of their EMB-195 aircraft in Q317 - registrations 'EL, 'EM and 'EN. I'm not sure who is in the market for this type as the EMB-190 would seem to be more popular?

cornishsimon 22nd Feb 2017 19:11

The obvious one I guess would be our friends over at SEN

Reversethrustset 22nd Feb 2017 19:11

They aren't Flybe's to sell. They are leased so I assume you mean return to the leasing company, in which case what happens to them once returned is not their concern

....and they went to all that effort (Project Blackbird) to get them all flying and earning money at CWL, DSA, NQY and EXT/NWI.

Maybe moving some 175's to these locations as more of the ex-Republic Dashes are delivered?

Making money for whom? I'd be interested to know in respect of that arrangement in particular.

runway30 22nd Feb 2017 21:57

That still leaves 6 aircraft to cover the Project Blackbird agreements. No aircraft by my counting for standby/maintenance cover.

Interesting timing given that their franchise operator needs to acquire aircraft now but hasn't announced where those aircraft are coming from. It would have seemed an obvious solution to acquire the Flybe aircraft but Q3 wouldn't seem to meet their schedule.

Rivet Joint 22nd Feb 2017 22:28

Maybe the subsidies are about to run dry at these airports :ok:

runway30 22nd Feb 2017 22:39

Still flowing at CWL :ok:

Flybe BE1284 EDI-AMS seems to have had a gear collapse at AMS.

virginblue 23rd Feb 2017 15:27

It is on threshold of the Oostbaan (in front of the GAT area). Right main gear has collapsed. From what can been from the first pictures damage does not look too bad, but who knows.

G-JECP i believe. Hope everyone is ok.

The aircraft doesn't seem too bad, although you never know. Could be a gonner. The last thing BE need is a Dash down with Summer coming up.

LAX_LHR 23rd Feb 2017 16:15

Seems to have landed hard on the right side with the gear collapsing almost immediately:

canberra97 23rd Feb 2017 16:20

Looking at the picture it doesn't look any different to other instances where a Dash 8 has landed with landing gear issues and I shouldn't imagine it's a 'gonner' or a write off which I think is the correct term used. A quick repair job and she will as good as new!

DaveReidUK 23rd Feb 2017 16:38

Apart from the obviously written-off prop, engine and RH MLG, photos would suggest damage to the nacelle and rear fuselage.

Hard to predict whether it will be permanently repaired at AMS, or a quick engine/prop change, shore up the gear, some speed tape and a ferry to EXT.

Either way, I'd expect it to be in service again by the start of the summer schedules in just over 4 weeks' time.

CabinCrewe 23rd Feb 2017 16:39

oooft! very surprised it gave way. Must have been a pretty high G loading. Wonder if props stay clear?
