In fact, I believe it would be flyBe, as they have been hired to operate the flights. The flights are Stobart Air flights, but they have chartered flyBe to operate them. The flights also happen to be operated as a flyBe franchise, which is a separate agreement.
When the "KNACKERED" 195s join Stobart it will then be up to Stobart to sort IRROPS.

Stobart Air have wet leased the aircraft from Flybe so I'd have thought that it would be done to Stobart to find a replacement if it went tech. If it was Flybe's responsibility then they'd use there own aircraft as cover not bring in Titan Airways. At CWL when the aircraft go tech it's always a Flybe aircraft as a replacement not an ACMI airline.

Jerry, technically you're wrong. They'll only use Flybe aircraft if a Flybe aircraft is available. Stobart are paying Flybe for a service, it's up to Flybe to provide that service.

I would have expected Stobart to have paid for Titan. It's worth bearing in mind that they'd not have had to pay for Flybe to provide the service if Titan did it instead. No doubt there is some commercial clause that might enable them to claim something from Flybe, but it's very likely to be based on an average monthly performance than a one off period of disruption.

Do you think there is any chance of Flybe/blue islands taking up the GCI to LCY route when aurigny pull out. Would not a triangular routing with JER work?

I'm concerned about the sheer amount of a/c going tech. I am considering trying their re-ignited DUB service but being honest if this is the trend then I can't see myself using Flybe at all.
Potentially looking like SEN mgt have backed the wrong horse in Flybe. Wonder if the Cityjet talks can restart?

Of course that's the trouble when people start to use colourful language to describe an unserviceability.

I doubt that the Flybe EMB195s suffer more unserviceabilities than comparable airline fleets and in recent weeks on time performance has generally been very good for all three SEN-based aircraft operating the Flybe timetable. The fact that Flybe have been able to substitute a Titan aircraft rapidly both times they had a tech problem recently is reassuring. If they cancelled flights instead of doing so I would be more concerned regards flying with them in future.

I'll give them a go and see for myself what the performance is like in the real world.

I fly the Embraer for Flybe and in nearly 3 years I've gone tech whereby it's caused a delay, twice. The Embraer is very, very reliable and if there's been a little spate in SEN then they've been very unlucky.

I've flown with Flybe out of Cardiff a couple of times now and never had a problem. They are a good airline.

Use them out of Doncaster (Embrear's). From a poor start, they have recovered nicely.... Certainly no worse than other airlines.

In that list of around 50 Flybe incidents over the past six years there are only two relating to the EMB195. So your point is?

And of the 3 EJet instances, 2 were primarily related to crew illnes which have nothing to do with the aircraft.

And while it's fashionable for this thread to make flyBe out to be the horrorstruck unreliable airline of the UK... on a statistical basis they're not.
