Southampton Sun Routes

In reply to a question on Flybe's Facebook page, Flybe's comment is 'we are due to release our summer 2016 schedules November 10th and I believe the Malaga to Southampton route will be included'.

stewyb 5th Nov 2015 19:43

Testing the water maybe at present, but looking at their pricing strategy that is more than competitive, I wouldn't bet against some route expansion in the not too distance future!:ok:

Squeeze NATS?

S16 Timetable

Flybe's S16 timetable is now showing on their route map and there are some interesting new routes:

London City - Paris CDG
London City - Rennes (very galling considering SEN service)

DSA - Amsterdam
DSA - Berlin Tegel
DSA - Faro
DSA - Newquay
DSA - Paris CDG

Aberdeen - Newquay
etc.

London Stansted to Newquay has been kept, while Bournemouth loses all of it's seasonal destinations. Deauville has lost all services as well.

Adam :)

devon_guy 10th Nov 2015 06:51

I'm not surprised Deauville has gone, it was forever being advertised. EXT has lost its seasonal RNS route this year too.

Flightrider 10th Nov 2015 06:56

And Exeter-LCY is down to one per day, morning out, evening back. The aircraft operates the new single daily LCY-CDG in between, getting back to Exeter via the CDG-EXT. Bournemouth looks to be gone completely.

Flybe Summer 2016

BHX-AVN, DOL and BES are not bookable. Birmingham sees winter 2015/6 increases continue along with MXP up to three times daily and TXL increases from daily to twice daily Mon, Wed and Fri. NOC announced yesterday at 6 a week is on sale daily.
Overall very positive for BHX and it appears Flybe are looking at increasing frequency on key business routes.

So that is a confirmation that Flybe are dropping the sun routes from SOU after 3rd April. Whilst I wish all of their new venture the best of luck quite how they expect to make more money flying the likes of DSA-NQY with the Embraers I'll never know...

Also looking like their second spell at BOH will be as brief as the first, unless the flights are still yet to be released.

NewquayJacob 10th Nov 2015 08:54

I must admit I did not see DSA-NQY coming. 4 x weekly with E195s seems a bit much, but then I could be wrong.

cornishsimon 10th Nov 2015 09:22

How do we know that DSA-NQY will be on an E-Jet ? From timings it looks like the route will be flown on a DSA based aircraft.

Because DSA will have 2 based 195's only. !!!!

manx crab 10th Nov 2015 09:42

IOM-STN does not appear available for the summer either

Letsflycwl 10th Nov 2015 09:48

New CWL-VRN route too......any ideas if that's a based CWL E195 ??

AirGuru 10th Nov 2015 09:57

Indeed it is a CWL based E195. The Summer 2016 schedule for CWL looks like some pretty sensible scheduling from Flybe. A few rather minor alterations.

Jamesair 10th Nov 2015 10:30

NCL - STN not appearing for summer 16 either. Hope this is just a delay in publishing.

Tonyq 10th Nov 2015 11:03

I suspect that IOM-STN and NCL-STN are gone completely. Certainly the IOM schedule looks complete with MAN/LPL/BHX all being covered by two IOM based Stobart ATR-72's, and with, on the face of it, no Q400's reaching the Island, at all.

With the cutbacks at BOH, it looks as though whatever deal they had with MAG over STN and BOH may have run out.

Rivet Joint 10th Nov 2015 12:20

DSA - Amsterdam
DSA - Berlin Tegel
DSA - Faro
DSA - Newquay
DSA - Paris CDG

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Lol lol lol lol lol lol

This is laughable. This whole base will be closed as soon as the subsidy ends and drag BE's reputation through the mud one more time. Stick to the bases that work!:ugh:

bean 10th Nov 2015 12:33

Half year figures to be published tomorrow together with the usual presentation
although as usual, many prople who post here won't bother to examine them:ugh:

Chesty Morgan 10th Nov 2015 12:56

Looks like they're going to continue the fine tradition of opening and closing bases willy nilly.

Standard Flybe practice I thought might have been thrown out with the previous lot of ineffective management.

NewquayJacob 10th Nov 2015 16:05

It is really disappointing for the people who the use the Southampton sun routes when BE redeploy one of their E195s to operate 3 x weekly NQY-DSA, albeit with a subsidy. I don't think the level of demand from people in Cornwall wanting to go to Doncaster and vice-versa is going to fill these flights?

I hope the DSA base does work, but there are some routes which seem completely 'random' - the CWL base seems to be going well, but what happens when all the subsidies end?

On another note NWI-ALC will be operating twice weekly on a Tuesday and Friday and NWI-AGP on a Monday and Thursday.
