BFS101, I'd say that the statement about single figures relates to a Saturday evening or a quiter day during the week. E.g I flew BA LHR BFS on 2 occassions on a Saturday LHR BFS p.m about 50 on it.

There probably are examples. I'd expect EI to be seeing lower numbers than BE on LGW, however, BE have significantly moved their prices down.

Last Saturday p.m. I was looking for a seat to London LGW BE to fly Sunday, BE BHD LGW £52, EI BHD LGW £48 + admin fee. Similar.

The question is who has the best yield or margin... are EI in the LGW market for the long term, if so maybe a move to STN for BE may be x3 daily, about 12k pax, at much lower cost, some incentive from BAA to get the business, so net net, it could be more profitable. But the big cost is face for BE, would such a move entice EI to go after BHX MAN, my gut says BE have too much at stake to move a route like LGW BHD from its network....

Besides STN would seem vulnerable especially if FR decided to return to the market...?

What are the chances that EI and BE would collaborate?

BE have been known to work with rather than against some carriers, especially its interlining at LGW MAN etc.

Such a collaboration with EI would be in BE's interest;
- If BE did opt out of BHD LGW, leave it to EI
- BE start STN
- Such collaboration could keep EI off MAN/EDI in future
- BE could interline EXT, CFN & SOU flights at DUB and connect to USA using preclearance at DUB

Is this out of the question? What does anybody else think?

EI-BUD or anyone else in the know, is this the norm for pricing for LGW flights out of BHD?

I am travelling to London next weekend and when pricing flights around 10 days ago EI was over £800 return for two people to LGW (out Sunday night, back Wednesday night). EI to LHR was £296 and BA £313. I nearly choked on my coffee!

Just for comparison sake, BE we're around the same price as BA.

Great if you can get people to pay those prices.......maybe the flight is nearly full!!!
Comparison EZY this Sunday return next Wednesday is £145.00 pp + £9 admin fee early evening flight. Go on the last flight on those days and it is £127 pp + £9 admin fee

Don't know if you are staying in LGW area but EZY to London SEN £92 return pp plus fee £9

That may have been a blip but those dates EI to LGW now range £75 to £200 depending on timing. Flybe pretty similar but again cheaper the earlier you fly. Into LHR BA varies £121 - £338 (inc luggage) and EI £80 - £216. :8

Financially the country is in deep trouble, there is a real opportunity to create jobs directly and through tourism etc with an asset that is being strangled by red tape, civil service ineptitude and Aldergrove sponsored propaganda through the tree hugging "concerned residents" and their mouthpiece Fawcett. :ugh:

If this airport was allowed to expand to its full potential then I would say the survey would be greater than 63%. Perhaps this is why Aldergrove are so obsessed with trying to make sure City is held back - by fair means or foul...:hmm:

Oh the joys of a 1000 people survey will certainly ignite these discussion pages......my airport is better than yours, we have no noise restrictions, our car parking is cheaper.......................it can go on and on

Must be plenty of room for Terminal 2 \ Cargo ramp at camp Moscow?

Seriously, It ain't gonna change that much, Belfast has 2 airports but we really only need one, live with it.

In reality nobody is going to agree if BHD or BFS is best. I read a comment that for an airport to make money it needa three million pax per year. If we had one for NI then think of of possible routes. Just look at Newcastle
