30 business class passengers on a plane with a total of 42 business seats. Can only be a a 777-200. Saturday 26th. EK35 & 36.

nclops 23rd Apr 2008 16:28

Could be wrong but im sure the config on the low density A330-200 is 42C/183Y so you could be getting excited about nothing!

skyman771 23rd Apr 2008 16:38

You are not going to see anything other than an EK A330.200:) this year at least.

FFC 23rd Apr 2008 16:45

Obviously in the know skyman.

If anyone is a member of a popular local spotters service (am I permitted to mention their name?!?) they have just published their version of summer charter timetable with some very interesting additions.

Lots of OHY flights, however have some of these not been cancelled??

Additional PGT DLM service and an extra OS A320 SZG flight, not to mention the MD83 from Air Bee.

If they operate, very welcome additions - variety is the spice of life!

HH6702 23rd Apr 2008 19:25

hi yes i noticed last night about the PGT flight.

If you look at those OHY flights you will see that most of them are now starting mid july instead of may and will finish around end of sept. (peak season only)

a few other ones in there i noticed.

CANT wait to prove skyman771 wrong!!
hope EK bring in a 777 before the end of the year!!

OHY flights

I had heard that all the OHY flights associated with Goldtrail (7 per week )were cancelled from NCL for the entire summer season. The same also applies to other UK airports.

Travel Agent 24th Apr 2008 06:49

Goldtrail cancelled AYT & ADB from Newcastle, as well as various other airports including NWI - DLM. They are blaming Onur Air saying they do not have enough aircraft. From a personal point of view I think they have severly over estimated how many pax would be going away this year. A more synical view may say that the flights were never going to operate, but the cashflow is good.

I know we have had scores of cancellations as the alternatives offered are usually ridiculos, an example: "Your flight BFS-AYT on a Sunday is now operating from Manchester on a Wednesday. Please confirm you accept the change". No offer of compensation, even if cancelled!

transwede 24th Apr 2008 09:15

Onur Air Flights

As far as I am aware OHY will only operate the following, including those flights which will operate for only the peak period:

Thursday

BJV 0915
DLM evening - both short series

Friday

BJV 0915
DLM 1905 and 2035

Sunday

BJV 0915

All supposedly to be operated by MD88 or A321 aircraft, no big busses this year!

Hopefully those extra short season flights will operate, as more revenue and passengers generated for the airport!

Does anyone know who the charter company responsible for the PGT flight is?

Robert William 24th Apr 2008 21:56

About 2 years ago it was Scot Travel that PGT operated for, but last year it was FHY that operated for them!

Travel Agent 25th Apr 2008 06:05

Scottravel Holidays still show FHY for this year too.

SWBKCB 25th Apr 2008 06:21

I see BA cancelled the last flight in yesterday (so this mornings first outbound also) - third time in a fortnight? :ugh:

I know of two BA Gold/Silver cards which will be on their way to Willie Walsh in pieces this morning - more customers for the train and KLM/AF.

Well after a great fly by from a Dak this afternoon I see ncl is on the farewell Dak tour June 11th & 12th, £99 a head for 30min. I hope this is not thought to be advertising but the phone number is Omega Hols on 01524 37500. I know lots of you out there will be interested!

It's strange how I can remember vividly my first trip in a DC3 (Siver City) way back in 1962 IOM - NCL yet to be truthful I've been racking my brains for past 10 minutes & completely stumped to recall my first Jet flight. Says a great deal for the experience & a machine that I've always admired. I really can't believe that there won't always be a DC3 in flying condition somewhere in Europe, I presume it's a passenger traffic licence that's to be the problem ? Maybe I'll find it too difficult to give up the chance of repeating the experience.....;)

Skyman

There's a thread starter if ever I saw one, first flight on a jet airliner? 1972 British Caledonian BAC 1-11 Newcastle to Spain via Birmingham.

Trident, 1972, NCL to Palma

First Jet Airliner

Trident 1e-140 BKS brand new either G AVYC or AVYD LHR- NCL with the Newcastle United team and staff on board. Cant quite remember when but it was one of the first jet flights on that route after conversion from the Brit/Visc.
