The following was posted by Doobie in the spectator’s forum. Anyone care to name these airlines from the 3 letter codes?

A quick look shows Luton expecting the following

Tue 20th am
VKG B752 (presumably the Air Greenland a/c)
FLT MD80
TRA B738 x 2 B737 x 1
BLE MD80
GSM B763
LTE A320

Tue 20th pm
AFL B763 TU54 A321

Wed 21st am
AAF A321 x 2
FUA B734
FIF B752
TTR B738 (any idea who this is?)

The inbounds are similar but also show an AEY B752

airlines expected at luton

AFL = Aeroflot
AAF = Aigle Azur of France
FIF = Air Finland
LTE = LTE of Spain
TRA = Transavia
FLT = Flightline
GSM = Globespan
TTR = This could be Tatra Air of Slovakia or some other Czech or Slovak airline
What AER is I haven’t a clue but I don’t think it is Aer Arean.
Also an Eastern Airlines SAAB 2000 is booked in to depart on Tuesday am returning on Thursday pm to Moscow with a refuelling stop at Berlin both ways. Moscow on a SAAB 2000 – now there’s a thought.
Regarding the Transavia Caravelles etc I think it was the 1971 European Cup Final in 1971 between Ajax of Amsterdam and Panathiakos of Greece. I was brown then but definitely white now!

Correct Compton 3 Bravo!

european champions league flights

Had my thinking cap on and AEY is Air Italy. Also heard that European Air Charter are to operate flights also.

LTN ATCO 7th May 2008 13:47

I think BLE is Blueberry, MD80.
Blue line airline, based in france, CDG, VIP flights and charter work for tour operators. 4x MD83 2xF100. Callsign blueberry.

Does anyone have any timings for the Champs League departures from LTN and if we likely to see any A330 or B777/B747?

Sorry all times are local

LTNman 13th May 2008 04:59

Looks like over half the movements will occur in the early hours. There are 20 Champions League movements between 01.30 and 06.00 on the 21st with only another 4 during the day and 15 movements on the 22nd between 02.30 and 06.00.

So the rumours about taxiways being closed for parking sound correct!

There won't be many free stands at those times during the night!

Powerjet1 16th May 2008 05:17

Noticed from today, Wizz will have seven arrivals into LTN within a 15 minute window, which amounts to about 40% of their current fleet here, on the ground at the same time. Two other days are the same, with the rest being 6 or 5. Not bad.

LTNman 16th May 2008 05:53

It's actually a 10 minute window.

4 arrivals at 7.25
2 arrivals at 7:30
1 arrival at 7:35

jetsetwilly 16th May 2008 07:09

Wizz

They are even using stand 60 now!!!

Youtube video from the top of the "new" control tower taken in 1995. Take this nostalgia trip now and remember how things were just 13 years ago.

I like how 'LUTON' is printed on the window, incase they forget where it is!
Vintage ATCO giving the spiel to the visitors..

Buster the Bear 17th May 2008 17:30

I recognise a certain Relic walking down the stairs coughing and you can see me (if you look carefully)!

In our defence . . . . . http://forums.flyer.co.uk/images/smi...on_biggrin.gif

This was three months before we went operational and it was decided to open the place up for public visits. The signs were to try and head off the 'Which way is north?' 'What town is that over there?' etc. So there http://forums.flyer.co.uk/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

It was only after we joined NATS and started to get some NATS ATCOs along I had to put them back up . . . :p :p :p

Vintage, your last paragraph is still valid albeit that it is not the ATCOs this time, but still NATS (P-RNAV etc). Maggie Moran is not happy!

Have I gone back in time 10 years, it sometimes feels like it. "Oh kiss me Hardy" business/management techniques! Anyway, what does an old brown bear know!

Life at Whipsnade ain't plane sailing!

Why no sticker on the tower window pointing to London's finest....zoo?
