yes that is what i am trying to say ! and yeah you are right they should use the 757 on popular routes, so therefore more numbers will be on those flights

Flybe Today
Drove past BOH at 11.45 today and 3 x Flybe Dash 8's on stand. Any idea why?

Well...der!!!

Bournemouth airport can afford millions to improve the roads for the industial estate and Christchurch council reject the Aviation museum due to increased traffic
How daft is this world |
Good to see 4 Flybe aircraft on the ramp along with a First Choice 767 off to Barbados yesterday albeit for a couple of hours but at least Bournemouth looked liked a proper airport again !
|
"Aviation Jobs" - nice to see they used an up-to-date photo of the terminal :ugh:
|
That's half the problem, despite the £50m spent in development the lazy press still print out of date photos. This can only be negative to the 'sale' of the airport to prospective airlines.
|
If an airline chooses new destinations on the basis of bad press articles, then Bournemouth would probably be better off without it.
|
If you saw half built or out of date hotel pictures in a holiday brochure you would think twice. Same would go for an airline surely?

If they were to place routes or base aircraft there yes, they would definitely visit, that's granted. But what I'm talking about is the simple off hand comment of 'I see Bournemouth hasn't changed according to this article' type of scenario.

I was thinking exactly the same thing when i saw that!!

Re Photo No7
Perhaps a very apt headline on the poster behind the subject... 'A Magical Pantomime' |
Malta has appeared on the Ryanair on line check in page , so hopefully it will appear bookable very soon
Lets hope that Crete appears on the destination list as well as Prestwick has just secured that route for the summer , the Crete route has always been very popular from Bournemouth and has not been taken up since the demise of Euro Cypria last year Very surprised that Thomson has not reinstated that route they could have put it on as a night flight for the summer as with many extra routes like LPA , LCA time will tell |
so the malta route is back at bournemouth then ? thats great news :) and there is the likely hood that the prestwick route aswell ? :D i think your right Thomson Airways should take up the crete route
|
Malta
It is mentioned on the Ryanair thread that Malta is not returning to BOH. Can someone from FR confirm this?
|
MLA
it appears it was an error in the booking system. will not be returning for S12.
|
BIG BIG Shame for Malta -
Here is the New Airport timetable - Pretty poor http://www.bournemouthairport.com/bo...+Timetable.pdf |
why don't we sort out the management system and start again? surely Manchester airport can employ decent management who can operate a proper airport efficiently!
|
Bournemouth Team
The Bournemouth management is comprised of one of the strongest regional airport teams in the country. Backed by MAG experience they have tremendous strength in depth to address one of the most difficult periods in UK airport economic survival. The business at Bournemouth is an amalgum of Passenger Flying, Cargo Ops, Flying training, Military support, Aircraft engineering, Industrial Estate property management & Catering. Its not just about aircraft movements. Bournemouth will still be operating and thriving long after this recession is over.

Proper Airports
"surely Manchester airport can employ decent management who can operate a proper airport efficiently"
And your view as to what constitues a "proper airport" is what? I think that from their record, the MAG Management team ain't too bad at operating airports. The problem is that in the current economic climate, there are far too many 'marginal' airports who simply can't pay their way. Even the likes of LPL doesn't make a profit. Can I ask you if the £45M investment made by MAG into BOH was a good or bad decision by decent - or otherwise - management? |
So a brief summary of what S12 will bring (at the moment!)
Atlantic Holidays: Madeira - 2 flights planned was 3 this year operated by Monarch. Blue Islands: Jersey remains at 3 weekly as per the winter with Guernsey availible via Jersy. All flown by J32's. Newmarket Hols: No major changes from this year, most flights seem to be operated by Tor Air. Ryanair: 1 based 738 as was the case this year but there are a few small frequency changes at some of the spanish airports due to them throwing their toys out of the pram (again!). Wroclaw in Poland is a new route - ops 2 weekly Monday and Friday. Thomas Cook: Antalya and Dalaman will not return so they will be absent from BOH for S12. Thomson: 1 based 738 remains, a few changes to the schedule with Sharm el Sheik becoming winter only and Mahon being added on a Monday. Otherwise pretty much the same as last year. Lets hope 2013 is a brighter year for BOH as far as passenger services are concerned, and that this comes along with some sort of improvement to our rather unstable economy!! |
Please feel free to start another thread BOURNEMOUTH - 3 (cut and paste) but this one needs a tidy up and is now closed. Happy Christmas and New Year.
