And here is the flight schedule for this new once daily service by Hi Air. They will be using a 19 seater BAe Jetstream 31 aircarft.

HI001 = DSA 07:30 AMS 10:00 = Monday to Friday
HI002 = AMS 18:40 DSA 19:10 = Monday to Friday

The airline website is at HiAir but it looks as though flights are not bookable online so reservations need to be taken over the phone on the following number +44 (0) 333 900 1800

I wonder how long this will last with prices like they are offering? I hope it dose work out for the young lad, But I get a feeling that they just wont be able to compete with bmi baby at EMA. Jet2 at LBA and KLM at both nearby LBA & HUY. I do wish them good look...

For someone who apparently ran a successful IT consultancy firm that website is really crappy (what can a 16 year old know to become an IT consultant?).

Besides this type of operation and these young Branson wannabes don't have a good track record. I'd stay well clear. Wonder if this child will offer a PTF scheme? Alpha1, Vars--- Express, Adam Taits fake airline, and my personal favourite Victor Bassey's Excelsis Airways (granted this was nit a kid. But it made me laugh). I can't see it lasting.

And ive read there are no plans for other routes. So it appears the aircraft will spend a whole day in AMS. Thats a long boring day for the crew. Hardly efficient.

Good luck. I think you will need it.

I have not used Doncaster yet (wrong end of Yorkshire for me) but given Doncaster location and the problems that appear to stem from not being able to get KLM to move there I wonder if anyone at the airport has spoken to Lufthansa. The nearest airports with a service to Germany by them are Man, NCL, Birm, and I would have thought that there would be enough business from Humberside and East Midlands as well as South Yorkshire to cover one or more flights to Frankfurt with the onward conections to the rest of the world as offered by KLM. Also I beleive they are trying to expand into the reigons within the UK as KLM have done when I have talked to their crews (use them from Man instead of BA via LHR). Any thoughts ?

compton3bravo, in fairness having trawled through the Wiki link and onto Hayat's website it does appear he's not as self-obsessed as this years Apprentice candidates - that said why on earth Minister's are being advised by teens I'll never know!? Wish they'd listen to us more with the amount of bloody tax we give them through aviation!

Timings are good, but I just don't understand how any organisation would want to incur the expense of having an a/c parked up all day @ AMS? Surely if they utilised the a/c more their ticket prices would drop?

Will be interesting to see how they get on, yes prices are less than KLM @ HUY when booked last minute, but that's not going to sell it.

DSA would far more benefit from more LCC ops, if they can make it work well good for DSA but they sure are going to need some luck.

I would hope that rather than depending on 'luck', they have a sound safety case and a sound business case before they cause distress to passengers, staff, airports etc. Still sounds like a basket case to me!
