I concur with Ryans comments, LJ there was no need for the dig.

As an aside egcn.co.uk is back open.

The EZY AMS route was run pretty poorly. I used it a few times and yes the loads were low, and they were often late.
I used it to connect to KLM and Transavia flights out of AMS, and then on Friday nights coming back to the UK would book through to HUY with KLM and book a AMS-DSA flight with KLM, online checkin for both and decide which would get me home quicker on arrival at AMS. Often would end up using the HUY flight and commuting back to the Doncaster due to delays.

I suppose that's the downside to operating W-patterns - all looks well and good on paper, but as soon as one small flight delay happens, it messes up the entire operation! I remember turning up at DSA one day for a Barcelona flight, with a several hour delay because the aircraft hadn't even left LIVERPOOL yet! (i.e. has to operate LPL-AMS-DSA-BCN)

Yes that was a slight problem over the summer, the DSA-Destination first wave flight in the morning operated at almost 99% On-time departure with the small amount of delays usually to do with slot restrictions etc. I know LPL is much businer etc but it was annoying when DSA got the flights away eraly and on-time when the LPL-Destination-DSA flights were nearly always late. The LPL-AMS-DSA flight nearly always operated LPL-FAO and some days LPL-AGP in the morning where the delays always seemed to stem from.

pax figures not everything

It might be worth mentioning before anyone in the near future starts banging on about a pax figure drop or possible pax figure drop that movements and airframes seen at DSA in the last two or three weeks would indicate that VAS might well be making progress in one of their major objectives, i.e developing cargo ops:ok:

AP1995 19th Dec 2010 13:30

has DSA handled any diversions from yesterdays events?

monkeytennis 19th Dec 2010 13:55

Looks like it.

Just seen a Thomson 757 depart to the North off 02 and that's not a usual type for DSA sadly.

Teevee 19th Dec 2010 14:10

Yes there were some diversions in yesterday, don't know how many but there were EZY's (one from STN I think) and at least one Ryanair (from BHX)

john2408 19th Dec 2010 19:48

Late Friday evening the airport A/Ds showed 3 FR diverts nk where from.

aidoair 20th Dec 2010 11:01

There was 3 x EZY diverts on friday too, All Liverpool bound, BCN, MAD & AGP. These aircraft parked and remained most of the day Saturday through to sunday, guess there elsewhere now though.

TimmyW 22nd Dec 2010 15:10

Ryanair have added Faro as a new destination.

aidoair 22nd Dec 2010 15:43

So now so far DSA has the following NEW or EXTRA flights for summer 2011;

RYANAIR: Alicante 3x weekly (Seasonal Return)
Faro 2x weekly
Tenerife 2x weekly

WIZZAIR: Villnius 2x weekly

THOMAS COOK: Palma x1 weekly
Antalya x1 weekly
Bourgas x1 weekly
Enfidha x1 weekly

H4U: Dalaman 1x weekly (A321 holidays extended to full season)

Plus;

Thomson Airways replacing 1x 733 to a larger 738 making 2x 738 + 1x 733 based.

TCX rumoured to be using 763 on the weekly Dalaman service and a 752 on the Palma service as well as adding an additional service to Bourgas during the height of summer, complimenting TOM's flights.

BombardierCR7 22nd Dec 2010 17:23

Isn't the Thomas Cook Bourgas just a seat allocation on the existing Friday Thomson flight?

aidoair 22nd Dec 2010 17:30

Apparently it's going to be in addition to, as the Thomas Cook group already have an allocation on this flight and so wouldn't make an announcement regarding it. As it stands at the moment though, the Thomas Cook website still shows the flights as operating with Thomson Airways.

N707ZS 22nd Dec 2010 18:19

Has there been any mention of a Thomson Dominican Republic flight?

Teevee 22nd Dec 2010 18:45

I suspect if you're referring to the restoration of 763 summer flights, rumours have only referred to that possibly happening in 2012.

airhumberside 23rd Dec 2010 13:13

Wouldn't they? It's good PR so why not. Though wierd how so much attention is being given to Bourgas when geniune capacity increases on Palma/Enfidha, with Thomas Cook having their own flights next summer, are largely ignored

AP1995 23rd Dec 2010 14:28

i think thomas cook bourgus flights are operated by there own aircrafts and i think the have allocated seats on thomson's ibiza flights, also novelair is doing an enfidha flight which thomas cook also has allocated seats on it.

airhumberside 23rd Dec 2010 15:59

There is nothing to suggest that Bourgas is anything other than taking seats on TOM. Both the Thomas Cook website and the relatively recent 2nd Edition brochure state TOM

The Nouvelair flight should be exclusively for the Thomas Cook Group. I think they are also taking seats on a TOM Enfidha flight mid week

EuroChallenger 31st Dec 2010 19:26

DSA

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but for 2011 Ryanair are offering Tenerife and Faro ex Doncaster.
