Have they replaced/re connected the weather radar In the nose of G-OMAF I wonder?

The one under the belly was useless for looking forward at weather, it just painted the shape of the Aircraft nose.:ugh:

The kit inside G-OMAF would not have been to hard to remove​ and the engineers at Bournemouth knew their stuff when I was flying for them. I had very few technical issues with the aircraft. The aircraft were converted to 202k's before I joined back in 2001 so no issues in that respect

On Aurigny Facebook page flight GR608 is showing as cancelled, the airline is blaming wet weather conditions, their other ATR operated flights are running as normal so this excuse is a load of cr*p. I've just noticed that an ATR is currently positioning to EMA as GR100 to pick up pax for a previously delayed inbound (tech) flight, this I presume is the aircraft that was scheduled to operate to LGW. C'mon Aurigny people aren't stupid so tell the truth.

G-COBO landed at EMA at 13:00 according to FR24, whereas the GR608 flight is showing as cancelled at 12:52 on the Guernsey departures board. It doesn't exclude the possibility that they knew that G-COBO was tech before it landed, but it does look as though you may possibly be being unfair to Aurigny here.

The Facebook post does say "delayed due to technical issues" but then goes on to mention forecast adverse weather, which is probably a bit of a red herring. At least we can guess where they found a spare airframe from. (I do wonder if it only had a handful of pax booked which could readily be fitted on the later jet thus saving the cost of a charter). Guernsey taxpayers should be pleased.

Jerbourg's speculation cannot be dismissed. The truth lies in when G-COBO was declared tech. Does anyone know?

G-COBO flew GR603 which operated normally although slightly delayed (20 mins) because refuellers did not turn up at the right stand at LGW! There can't have been a problem when it flew out of GCI for EMA.

I can confirm that GR610 (op by G-NSEY) had a pretty full load. Probably GR608 was anything but full. At the moment spare seats are fairly plentiful. For example, GR603 in the morning had about 25 spare seats.

If an adverse weather forecast was the real reason for the cancellation of GR608/609 why was nothing else affected? Were the expected crosswinds going to be beyond the limitations of a crew member? Hardly. The finger of suspicion points at a likely cover-up. Tech aircraft; replacement needed; use another that is the most readily available and likely to cause the least upset; blame the weather - everyone can see it's horrible. Perhaps they forget that some folk can see through tangled webs of deceit... I don't think I'm being harsh.

Tuesday 6th June:-
Not going very well for Aurigny today. G-COBO stuck at EMA since yesterday; G-NSEY stuck at LGW after flying the GR600 this morning. Also tech earlier was G-HUET which was about 90 mins late leaving GCI for LCY. It's a good thing there are no Bristol and Stansted flights today.:ooh:

FR24 shows GR 696 being operated by G-VZON today, but GR697 by G-COBO. FR24 has no record of VZON's return from EMA to GCI. However, Flight Tracker shows G-VZON operating GR697 but G-COBO returning EMA-GCI as GR100P. Although not always entirely reliable, Flight Tracker shows COBO's return at FL 5.0. Does this suggest that G-COBO has had pressurization problems?

FR24 shows G-COBO for GR697 on Monday was a misnomer. The track of the flight indicates that it was actually GR100P which never went above FL 5.5. A pressurization issue therefore?

It looks like G-LGIS went tech this afternoon and all afternoon flights from Alderney were cancelled - G-LGIS returned as flight AUR101P to GCI. Why didn't they operate the flights with G-OAUR which was and still is at ACI?

Crew maybe?

Aircraft Shortage
Aurigny seem to be currently plagued by technical problems, as follows:-
Do.228s: G-LGIS has not flown since yesterday morning, believed to be tech in GCI.
G-SAYE has not flown since the 4th April. This was the aircraft that was out of action between 8th September and 22nd November 2016. Can anyone explain why current maintenance is taking so long? I understand it was expected to be back i/s in late May!
Today's Dinard flight has been cancelled because only G-OAUR is operational. If that one develops a fault..... :ooh:
We're waiting for G-OMAF to arrive - but when?
ATRs:- Monday's GR696 reached EMA with G-LERE u/s. (Two weeks ago - on the 5th - the same thing happened to G-COBO.) A replacement ATR (COBO) was sent to operate the GR697. Now we discover that ATR42 G-HUET is at LGW after GR602, with GR603 being cancelled. Today's LBA service (GR664/5) is cancelled with pax being offered seats on the EMA service.
Did I hear something about a strategic review recently??? ;)

GR548 SOU-ACI re-timed to 13:55

GR561 ACI-SOU re-timed to 15:00

The leased 228 G-OMAF has twice attempted the trip to GCI but has on each occasion been forced to return to Germany with a technical issue....

How such a small airline can fly and maintain service with such a hideous fleet mix is quite astonishing.. someone needs sectioning for for the Do228 scandal and then having a single E-Jet and couple of ATR - I really feel sorry for the islanders - its those people and the businesses and inbound tourism that will suffer, it really needs some hard difficult decisions to be made but the CI community really need a solution and fairly fast I'd say.

A scandal indeed! All rather ironic that this should happen at the very time that the last Trislander (G-BEVT) was retired to Duxford. One operational Do228! :ooh: At the very least TWO serviceable Dorniers are needed, and a back-up might be a good idea. What's going to happen tomorrow if G-OAUR goes tech?
Passengers who book to FLY don't expect to be put on a BOAT!! When are the States of Guernsey going to wake up to the realities of their own airline?

I've asked before - why is G-SAYE having yet another extended time out of service? Do these Do228s really need so much hangar time every few months? :rolleyes:

All Dornier's tech. The last serviceable 228 G-OAUR is now tech in ACI. :ugh:
