Credit card charges

Agree 100% on the rip off they enforce on Irish passengers. €2.50 per passenger per leg, even if one credit card is used to pay for the entire booking.

There's no way the credit card company charges that level of charge, and the other major annoyance is that it's not shown until VERY late in the booking process.

The other aspect of this is that FR won't accept payment by debit card in Ireland, as they know they would not be allowed to continue with this level of charge.

It's not fraud, in that you are told about it, but the manner in which it's levied, and charged, is getting very close to it.

Maybe the answer is that all web sites should be forced to advertise the fares at the start of the process including all the charges, so that this nonsense of a 0.01 fare than ends up being 35.00 + is once and for all ended.

In several newspapers I have read recently, Ryanair have been advertising fares including all taxes and charges. So for example 'Fly from London Stansted to Girona for £19.99 inc taxes and charges'. This makes so much more sense than the 0.01p fares exc taxes and charges.

You will find that this subject has already been raised. It was duly merged by the Mods into the main FR thread that is running in the coorect forum: Airlines, Airports & Routes. So it would be best to hop over there as this thread will, doubtless, join it.

Swedish taxes

Ryanair's winter schedules do go a small way to following through on their threat to respond to the new Swedish aviation tax with withdrawal of flights.

Could Malmo's loss be Copenhagen's gain? The Danish government are doing the exact opposite and reducing such taxes!

Anyone know when the winter schedule is going to be announced and bookable?

Charlie Roy 13th Jul 2006 13:31

The winter schedule is mostly ready and bookable for all bases except Dublin. Dublin is partially on-line. What route(s) would you be interested in booking?

Devonair 13th Jul 2006 13:56

Routes out of DUB to mainland Europe.

Charlie Roy 13th Jul 2006 14:19

Any day now the entire Dublin timetable shall be ready. Each day they are finalising the timetable for various destinations from Dublin.
Brussels Charleroi, Newcastle, Gatwick and a few others have just been added in the last few days.
