It was more the F50 I was thinking of. I don't know how well they do on DUB, its not saying a rotation or 2 couldn't be shifted into WAT. Other than Loganair I can't think of many others. The trouble with LTN is lack of anything but a/c too large.

EI-BUD 13th Jan 2013 13:56

When Dublin Waterford was last flown by Aer Lingus and Euroceltic, the loads were not impressive in any way!

I just cant see any airline planning any flights on DUB WAT even a positioning, as this adds costs...

mart901 13th Jan 2013 14:21

I was meaning the possibility of dropping some LCY-DUB rotations in favour of WAT, not doing any complex maneuvers. DUB-WAB would be next to pointless unless for connections.

Anyone know IF and WHEN a London to Waterford route will recommence? Last time I heard they were in discussions with an airline but that could be to take on either a London or Manchester route.

Jamie2k9 27th Feb 2013 23:32

Manchester rumoured to be announced next week.

mart901 28th Feb 2013 00:13

hopefully - any more details?

Jamie2k9 28th Feb 2013 00:41

That's all I heard.

NABLAG 28th Feb 2013 19:43

What airline ?

virginblue 28th Feb 2013 21:23

Do bmi regional or Flybe opb Scot have an aircraft sitting on the ground during the day? Would be surprised to see a Q400 by Flybe proper, but who knows. There is no other regional airline with a presence at MAN.

(unless Blue Islands or Aurigny would be inclined to do a Waterford W-pattern in-between their C.I. flight (highly unlikely of course - and I am not sure if they were allowed to:Are they licenced as an UK-airline and are allowed to operate international flights from England?)

I don't believe there is any legal difference since the mid 1990s. Any EU airline is able to operate in any EU country, and I would imagine that they're classed as EU airlines despite being CI, particularly as they only seem to have received any form of aviation regulation of their own in the Islands recently. All G- registered craft too.

I assume Flybe 4/5 weekly on dash 8 with other possible onward destinations.

mart901 1st Mar 2013 10:37

Apart from the previously mentioned the only other possible airline I can see would be BMIregional, although it doesn't really fit with their business model.

sounds good any more details "78 Whiskey"

Manchester

If it is flybe then in the week there is a spare Q400 slot at present on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the days MAN-NOC or MAN-NTE doesn't doesn't operate and not too dissimilar to the BHX timings.

I thought they might try Luton using the BHX aircraft but that would require considerable schedule changes.

Manchester

Manchester is now bookable on flybe.com 4x weekly

mart901 5th Mar 2013 10:20

That's brilliant news

EI-A330-300 5th Mar 2013 14:35

Indeed good news, flights start 22 May. The airport CEO said work on a London Luton service is still on going and said its more complicated as an airline would be basing in Waterford. He said they are still in talks with a number of carriers about it. Lets hope they get a carrier.

Mlinnie 5th Mar 2013 15:58

Flybe

Great news !! :ok: do you think we will have a Luton route announced in time for the summer schedule ?

irish laddie 5th Mar 2013 18:27

Well done to the Airport, great to see the comeback! Desperate for the Luton route to return, the added trek of going to DUB/ORK is painful compared to how easy a Waterford Luton trip[ used to be

mart901 21st Mar 2013 00:33

Flybe have put winter flights on sale, 4 weekly from BHX and MAN up till Feb 1/2 term.
