The first pair of flights by Hooters Air

The first pair of flights by Hooters Air will launch March 6 when a VIP flight leaves Myrtle Beach, S.C., to pick up the first paying customers on a flight from Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport back to Myrtle Beach. There'll be chicken wings, cake and plenty of tight orange sweaters for the send-off. "We aim to bring the fun back to flying," said Hooters owner Robert Brooks...

You just can't make up a headline like this!

Perhaps this is the kind of job that could help pilotofjet get over his orange airline problem

It would sure work for me!

"Hooters Air 737s will be manned by a flight crew consisting of two pilots (wearing traditional pilot uniforms), three flight attendants (wearing khaki pants and orange Hooters Air polo shirts) and two Hooters Girls (wearing traditional Hooters Restaurant uniforms). The flight attendants will be experienced, certified, and the position will be gender neutral. The Hooters Girls will be restaurant employees who will assist with hostess and food/beverage functions as allowed by FAA regulations."

So where can we apply?

Its great to some fun and humor back in the airline world. Things have been so grim for so long, at least somebody is having some fun. Any vacancies for -800 qualified people?

It's absolutely outrageous

How dare they launch this service when I've just been to the States and probably won't be going again for yonks

Will have to rethink the travel plans for this year

How can I get a message to the flight deck if I travel with "Hooters" asking them to fly through a little turbulence?

...and I'm old enough to remember when some airlines introduced hot-pants for their female cabin staff.

Or if one prefers a higher class of totty, this month's Forbes (p52) includes a report on 'Ecstasky Air,' a Gulfstream/Learjet charter service based in Beverly Hills, which offers clients a choice of 135 stewardesses (complete with bikinis, teddies, etc.). Yours for a piffling $40,000 a trip.

Bang goes the company's travel budget...

Cheers,

Talking

Those 'hot pants' are back. Too bad their starting pay is so low for 737 F/Os ($35/hr).

Would'nt be worth it, unless you got photo ops with the cabin crew.

Is Erica Burgess sporting the standard uniform for the service? Add some Celtic fans to that! ... I doubt we'll see it happen in the UK!

Yes - it was PSA that introduced the hot pants, together with attractive pastel-shade uniforms and also the aircraft, I seem to recall - and all very nice it was, too
Odd, though - USA of all, with their incredible propensity toward dual standards - biggest porn industry in the world but one of the most prudish ( publicly ) states in the world - always in the lead to ban smoking and stuff like that - I would have expected a fuss from their 'libbers', but not so far - good! Should brighten things up a bit! Good luck to them

PSA had one standard of hiring - Be Gorgeous!

I remember being on a crew bus at LAX when one of their girls shouted for it to stop. It sounded like a mating call.

A friend of mine, now a retired captain, married 3 of them.
