First flight Bournemouth to Prestwick with Ryanair.

Today was the first flight of the new service from Bournemouth To Prestwick with Ryanair using a 737 - 800.

Ryanair representatives was at Bournemouth Airport at 3pm this afternoon to launch its new route.

Hope Ryanair has lots of sucess with this route and hope they will not be kicking themselves with the routes they scrapped.

The Ryanair representative was met by an angry group of ex buzz passengers and film crews from both local BBC & ITV networks. What was supposed to be a positive launch of the route, which 14,000 people have booked on so far, turned into a bit of a scrum to tackle Mr Kel O'leary on the takeover. Still the flight left on time with a good load of passengers who paid as little as 1p per ticket (not inc taxes!)

Mr O'Leary said ' What they don't understand is how Ryanair operate..ER..Yeah...You know. We don't feed people, we don't give them tea or coffee. Err. If theres a problem with the flight we don't put them up in a hotel. People say thats very harsh, but thats the way its done. Thats how you keep your costs down.'

With all due respect to everyone who has commented on Ryanair buying Buzz, surely KLM should be the focus of your/their anger?

Buzz had a future if it had been given strategic direction and backing from KLM.
It wasn't, and given the current state of KLM, they took the cash and ran.
I sympathise with all those booked on BOH flights with Buzz and staff/management at BOH, but I think KLM have more to answer for than Ryanair.

Just a thought.

stevobeevo, that was Kell Ryan - Kell O'Leary does not exist (at least not within this context).

generallee - agreed.
