Unhappy Lufthansa Adjustment reduction of 36 A/C by April.

In an effort to adjust capacity to demand, LH will reduce a total of 36 aircraft by April 1 (no, that’s not a fools joke). Planed are 21 aircraft at LH and 15 at LH CityLine as well as other regional partners. These measures were taken due to low world economic progress, and further possible steps will be contemplated, pending on events in the near future. No word as of yet on how the crews will fare.
Perhaps some LH driver can elaborate on further details.

To my best knowledge till now the LH management only decided to reduce capacity with 9 a/c, of which 3 are LH itself, and the rest are it's partners.
Further measures are considered (in case war brakes out in Iraq), but not decided upon yet.

It's only 9 aircraft (three CRJs, three 737/A320, three props).

The other 36 aircraft mentioned have already been parked.

Not really; once in Budapest during taxi out I saw one of our 737's parked outside, but then there are still 35 a/c not accounted for...

Not anymore... this was the case before 9-11, but right now they are grounded due to lack of pax.

Does this mean that there will be routes axed from the UK?

I know that the Newcastle's pax numbers were increasingly significantly

This information came of communiqué from LH on 21.01.03, by the time of my post it was 3 days old. There may be some overlapping of news.
