Food for a price
If I posted in the wrong forum, I apologize. Just found out, effective yesterday, America West will now be charging for it's food and United will now only serve food during normal "eating" hours including 1st Class and Business Class.
A few salient points:
All meals are available on America West for a price...$5:00 or close enough...within pre-determined hours.
United will now only serve food if it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. In other words, no food if your flight starts after 9:30am and before noon and no food after 1:00pm and 5:00pm. and if you board after 7:00pm, "no food for you". This is for ALL classes of service.
As an aside, they will no longer serve sandwiches anywhere between Honolulu and the Mainland during the 'red-eye" flight.
Of course, if you're used to complaining about the food you're given, a full refund will now be provided if you're not at least 22% satisfied with the meal.
Thanks
Andy
