in the last few days, the High Court has suspended the passenger cap for another 12 months until end of next year and the Minister for Transport has confirmed he is bringing legislation to cabinet to remove any cap whatsoever. Fingal County Council had been making the DAA jump through hoops to potentially raise the cap to 40 million.

Looks like the installation of the new scanners is finished. The North American carriers should be announcing their expansion in the coming weeks for the NAT, will be interesting to see if there's anything from them for DUB, DL have been going toe-to-toe with EI so one wonders will they react to EI at RDU. JFK at 5 x daily on 3 carriers (plus EWR at 3 x daily on 2 carriers), YYZ at up to 5 x daily on 4 carriers, BOS and ORD at 4 x daily on 3 carriers there's certainly a lot of competition on some routes.

Someone applied for and was granted slots for an ATR on the route this winter but nothing further was ever announced. There's going to be more slots for DUB in S26 due to various infrastructure upgrades and the parallel runway ops being extended by 2 hours. ACL are finalising all this into their allocation before opening the application process for the airlines, which should happen in the next 2 weeks or so.
Delta have announced DUB-DTW is going from 4 x weekly to daily on the A330.

17% growth this year. The underpass to the West Apron and additional gates in the pipeline can't come fast enough it seems.

I note compared to the Winter 25/26 Acl inital slot report that one route remains on there for the UK as a new destination in the lastest ACL slot report for summer 26 and that is Norwich, on a 737, ie Ryanair, will it come to fruition probably not especially with an expected further increase in APD in the UK in the upcoming budget.
Bournemouth and Prestwick do not appear again.

EI launching PIT at 4 x weekly from 25th May.
Also re-launching Oslo and Montpellier from early/mid May respectively.
Edit: Asturias also added.
That leaves 10 "free" A321LR/XLR long haul rotations available based on number of airframes, however they are being used increasingly within Europe, EG and extra VCE rotation has been added. It seems the lie flat J seats and IFE are popular with connecting pax to/from North America.
PIT is the 24th currently served US destination for DUB:
Atlanta
Boston
Charlotte
Chicago
Cleveland
Dallas/Ft. Worth
Denver
Detroit
Hartford
Indianapolis
Las Vegas
Los Angeles
Miami
Minneapolis
Nashville
New York JFK
Newark
Orlando
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Raleigh/Durham
San Francisco
Seattle
Washington DC.
A number of these are served 3/4/5 x daily. Mind blowing really.

Maybe Shannon, Cork or Belfast might get some of those free rotations.

It is indeed outstanding especially as the likes of British Airways don't even fly to seven of those destinations in the list and two of which aren't even served from London at all.
Very impressive to see over the years how Dublin has gained so many destinations in the USA 🇺🇸

It seems there's a growing trend from IAG to shift US focus to Aer Lingus. To me this seems logical and I would almost like to see BA's thinner transatlantic routes to the likes of Baltimore, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh move to/consolidate at Dublin with Aer Lingus.
That would serve regional UK connectivity through Dublin with US preclearance better in many instances than BA can. Once the Asia/Far East market becomes a bit more lucrative at such a time that Ukrainian/Russian airspace becomes less prohibitive I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these BA routes shift to Aer Lingus and free-up some LHR slots for reinstating the likes of Beijing, Osaka and Seoul.

I'd be astonished. Why move a US route with their strongest code share partner in favour of a much further one going east where the local airlines will always win on both cost and customer loyalty. I don't think route planning is done at an IAG level in that way.
Those routes exist to connect the local markets to London and Europe with the much larger BA network, not something a DUB stop helps much with, especially with T2 maxed out at peak times.
LHR-CLT /RDU are sold as part of the BA/AA JV though, DTW was long abandoned as P2P is poor and it survives as a DL hub for onward travel. The smaller niche destinations on the A321NX are the ones to watch for growth. They'll also be the 1st ones dropped in the next downturn as you can't consolidate on frequency, so let's hope they build well enough, interesting times, good to see Aer Lingus in growth mode. But at what point does regular bussing become a thing as more US destinations are added into T2?

I have to agree. The Irish are far and wide across US, it is a separate revenue stream to anything at LHR.
Something Dublin will have to watch is if Edinburgh also gets US Pre-clearance.
That could eat into any UK connection traffic.

Montreal is already served by Air Canada. Also without the pre-clearance advantage to Canada, the incentive to change in Dublin over other hubs is reduced. Quebec has T/A service to Paris and I’m not sure how much market it is there. I would have thought Ottawa was the big opportunity in Canada, but with Air France adding CDG to the existing Heathrow route recently it’s become a harder nut to crack.
