Were they ever involved with Air Europe (Uk). After it went bust in 1991, associate airlines like Air Europe (Italy) survived and operated quite nicely out of Milan for some time.

With 3 A332
1 B.737-7NG
4 B.737-8NG
and 3 B.737-8MAX
on hand discounting the MAXs for obvious reasons are the others owned or leased?
could be of great interest to other operators desperately short of capacity this coming summer.
Thanks
David

No, Air Europe Spa. of Italy went on to merge to become Volare Group (part of AZ) then closed down.

Lauda Air Italy was majority-owned by the Volante company, itself controlled by Niki Lauda, while Gruppo Ventaglio owned the remaining shares, who then purchased Volante's share and integrated Lauda Air Italy with the airline Livingston but it all went south too.

Air Italy was first a holiday charter airline (they famously put a 767-200 into JSI Skiathos once lol) they were taken over by Meridiana in 2011 (Alisarda and Eurofly merged)
In 2017 Qatar Airways new ownership merged Meridiana and Air Italy in a bid to becomes Italy's flag carrier under the Air Italy brand.
