I like it, it works where it’s being displayed. Everyone that uses tubes and rush hour trains has come across that person.

She doesn't look particularly oversized to me.

Are you referring to the girl or the backpack Dave?

HH, what is wrong with it? The punctuation makes it clear that the word oversized refers to the backpack not the girl.

imho, it's nowhere nearly as bad as the current easyJet/3 TV advert. For those outside the UK, 3 is a provider of mobile phone and internet networks. And what's this with boarding from the starboard side...?

I don't see anything wrong with that advert either... What's wrong with people these days?

I like the Westjet ad. I really don’t see what’s bad about it. I also don’t see what’s wrong with the three/easy ad either.... in fact I actually like it. Though, as it’s a three ad and has the continuing three ad theme, easy can’t really take the credit for it.

As for boarding on starboard side. Only a relative few plane geeks would ever notice. I would hazard a guess it’s to suit production values. It doesn’t really matter though does it.

I don't think many customers compare flying with standing on a crowded tube .... maybe they should but it's a far cry from Singapore Girl adverts... no mention of destinations, culture, holiday... just low fares for peopel who travel on a London tube... weird IMHO

Good grief.
Low fares rule and we all should know that. The theme of the ad is that wherever you are sat on WestJet you will still get great service (whether that transpires to be the case...) and uses humour to say..... even the girl on the tube with the over sized backpack.

If this ad run in Canada it actually shows that they serve London.

It just goes to show that plane geeks and enthusiasts would be totally the wrong people to ask when it’s comes to adverts. Instead, we want to convey our passion for the industry/aircraft when the majority of the public couldn’t give a flying fig.

Only a select few airlines these days can pull off the Singapore girl ads. The Singapore girl hasn’t appeared for a while (?) and the worlds favourite airline has long since been dropped.

In an an era where economy air travel is becoming more of a commodity and with evidence of cost cutting even in some business class cabins, it’s getting more difficult to differentiate and promote the actual service.

And what kind of a slogan is "Fly to Canada for less" ?

Anyone would think they were trying to advertise low fares ...
