And facilitating a further expansion of regional operations? Some time ago after a BA flight, I received a customer feedback questionnaire. It was interesting to note the two or three questions about my location (near BHX) and convenience of getting to / flying from LHR.

No mention of CSeries - article mentions "72 new aircraft including four new types for the airline" (A350, 787-10, A320neo, A321neo).
Probably best not to get too excited yet.

As I said, I believe its Air France. With BA, where do you place the C-Series. Not enough stands capable of taking them at LCY, and upguaging at LHR to the 320/321.

The BA order (if it does ever come) will most likely be an IAG order that will also supply EI. I heard EI want 10 to replace A319 and some A320's on thinner routes.
BA will probably want to wait for LCY development when new bigger stands are available around 2020.
Iberia express could do well with CS300's instead of those old A320's.

For what its worth I've flown on Swissair 100's into LCY. Beautiful cabin experience, spacious, clever more convenient overhead bins, bigger windows, spacious washrooms too. Comfortable seats. All in all a really pleasurable passenger experience.
I can't wait to fly on the new CS if the 100 was anything to go by and will be a bonus if it's certified for LCY too.
(wonder if Cityjet's choice of new airframe was premature - of course, all comes down to overall costs of purchasing and operating)

All 15 SSJ100s are on lease as far as I know, so the chances of not getting rid of them is almost zero and provided that they have important performance requirements set in the contract they may even terminate the lease to close to zero cost. As I see it CityJet has been smart.

There is an appetite for smaller aircraft at Aer Lingus but the A319 clearly wasn't it.
