2020 holidays?

Given that TUI have just published their 2020 offerings, i wonder if Jet2 will follow suit soon?
Anyone have a date?

Normally released around April the year before, but wouldn't be surprised if they brought it forward slightly. My guess would be between Feb and Mar if they did deviate

Sorry you post is not clear, are you saying all bases will have flights to New York except Leeds or are you saying all bases that operate flights to New York will be operated with the A330 exec Leeds that will have a B757.

All bases that operate EWR flights will be on the A330 apart from LBA

19-Dec-19 23-Dec-19 A332

Quite a drop from W18, but to compensate they did launch even more of the KEF and Xmas market flights which is nice to see
Sad to see the programme dropoff, but when it started 10 years ago, budget transatlantic was still a new concept. Now everyone seems to be getting on board, Jet 2 must be feeling the squeeze.

EWR

With the complete lack of scheduled flights to New York from BHX, I am amazed Jet2 don't seem interested? They did one season was it Dec 2016? Were their loads particularly bad?

EXS6727 flight code

Just nosey. Currently G-GDFM is taxying out for an LBA - AGP flight.
Flight code isnt an LS flight number - FR24 shows it as the EXS code only - EXS6727.
Is that a rescue flight or are these codes for special charters etc?

EXS is the jet2 ICAO code
LS is the jet2 IATA code.

Both are normally shown in flight.

for example the code BA relates to IATA but SHT or BAW is the ICAO code for BA.

Jet2 Codes

If you're referring to the code showing on any radar tracking site then the Jet2 flight should show as EXS as, already said, this is their ICAO code. Airline reservation systems, and airport information screens use the IATA code of LS.

On Flight Radar a Jet 2 flight comes up as LS**** in bold followed by EXS**** in a smaller font in brackets.

Thanks for the feedback, folks.
It sure does, inOban - thats what got me curious.
Certainly on the App version of FR24, to filter Jet2, even though it asks for the ICAO code as the filter, either ICAO and IATA will get you Jet2, although the screen ident is always shown as 'LS----' until you tap on a Flight and then you also see its EXS number.
Thats what got me curious, FR showed an EXS code only.

Not all airport FIDS will show the IATA. AENA in Spain will show airline's ICAO prefix for flight numbers. In the UK it is often IATA apart from a few airlines such as TUI which shows TOM instead of BY and EasyJet which shows EZY instead of U2.

You're never too old to learn.

Thanks for the lesson.

AFAICR, Fuerteventura, always shows Jet2 on their FIDS as LSxxxx.
Least they did three weeks ago. Mind you it WAS 10pm, way past my cocoa time.😀

EXS300T at BAE Warton, Lancs

Interesting to see EXS300T .G-GDFS (presumably a training flight number) currently doing circuits and bumps using BAE Warton's (WRT) runway.

FR24 says it came OUT of Blackpool having been diverted there enroute to WRT from LBA so BLK can clearly still take 737-800s, light anyway. However, the playback does not show this - just continuous low level curcuits.

Jet2 at their VIP conference announcing that there are no planned base opening in the Short-to-Medium term and they want to focus on growing their existing bases. Hopefully we'll see all bases, rather than just the predictable MAN/BHX/STN see some decent growth as well
Also mentioned that they have ruled out Long-haul flying for now, focusing on their core market. Might put peoples minds at rest for now
