A reliable website stating (one that is concerned with loyalty programmes) that the route is axed September 13th. However, it speculates that Loganair may pick up the route in its own rite if it is viable, otherwise it suggests that IOM government may subsidise it in some way.

I suspect this route is corporate orientated and recovery in that category is expected later...wasn't there a company.on the Island contracting BA to keep this open? Perhaps they've had sign input into the outcome ...

Eastern Airways Saab 2000 G-CDEB as EZE001 currently doing circuits at London City. Its first flights for 2 months. Somebody requalifying ? Is this the first air transport movement here since the BA fleet was parked here ?

Today, 22 June, was one of the original dates BA said they would restart.

Didn't the IOM-LCY operate yesterday, as well as today?

Yes. It operated with Loganair ATR42. The Saab was doing circuits ahead of the Teeside route launch on 6th July.

I see the Teesside, with Eastern, has started today, twice daily.

Just cannot see this succeeding, but especially not in the current economic climate. Whatever business model made them think this was a good time to start ?

It was originally due to start in April - backed by money from the Tees Valley Mayor.

The airport is one of the Mayor's big ticket items in his plans to re-generate the region. The headlines on Teesside are "First London link for ten years". The elections next May.

And it will be fascinating to see whether the services are all still running by election day too, or whether the funding for this adventure runs out before then.

BA1 & 2 Cancelled - Sep 20

Just received this email from BA this morning 14 Jul. - 'We're very sorry to let you know that your BA1 flight to New York J F Kennedy on Monday, 07September 2020 has been cancelled.'
On checking other random dates in Sep via Expert Flyer, Service BA1 & 2 appear to have been taken off the schedule for Sep 20. ( I have not looked beyond this month)

The banks at Canary Wharf, users of the New York flight to a greater extent than other LCY services, are still on lockdown with most everyone at home and no office meetings. There's not going to be a lot of company-internal traffic, which again is far more prevalent on New York than other LCY points except maybe Frankfurt, until at least September.

The only airway that seems to be on the increase is Zoom! So these trips to New York might be a thing of the past.

Not quite so. The teams at Canary Wharf are finding the home-based meetings difficult, and not as productive as conventional working. Don't let the on line companies' marketing hype tell you otherwise. There are an awful lot of meetings etc being "pended forward" for when things open up again.

Incidentally, Zoom is seen as for social chit-chat. Canary Wharf finance use the various more mainstream products, which they always have done in such an international business, such as Webex, Teams, etc. Which doesn't stop the BBC etc portraying Zoom as the wonder-all, just republishing what their Marketing department has sent them. This is one of the downsides of the current situation, journalists are not in the office, they just turn round what is sent to them. It's why I am disappointed that BA (both Cityflyer and Mainline) and LCY seem to have zero marketing effort at present, I have seen nothing. Did some unfurloughed, know-nothing bean-counter furlough all the marketing staff ? They should be shouting from the rooftops to all media, front-paging their websites, emailing their contact lists, etc, about start up dates, destinations opening up, you name it.

I'm not surprised to hear that. WeWork ($$$) and shared office space was all the thing only a few months ago, yet now no one (apparently) needs to go to an office... Virtual meetings such as MS Teams, etc will have found a new audience, which has grabbed the headlines. While I can see it being used more widespread, a lot will be to supplement rather than totally replace face to face events I think.

Having seen the latest productivity analysis for my employer I would definitely agree with this. We have continued to trade throughout as we were classed as essential, however the productivity levels of those working from home is definitely not where we would like it to be. The words "Rent another office if needs be" were apparently some of the first that were said when those above saw the report.

Air Antwerp is due to resume flights between LCY and Antwerp on 01 September
Antwerp is having a 2nd wave of infection, with the city telling visitors to stay away. Perhaps the route resumption might be delayed a bit ?

I think its is more than just telling people to stay away, I was on a video call with colleagues who work at the port of Antwerp and they told me not only is there a lockdown in the Antwerp region there is also a night time curfew.
