They're pulling all their long haul for 2019 I believe. Last year MCO operated 12 weekly and was always full so it's surprising. Maybe VS could do a seasonal service to MCO like they do at BFS and GLA?

Yes Iím fully aware
But the point is if your going to take a risk with just buying a ticket and shopping in the departure Lounge the coming back through, you may as well make the most of it and get a bit of sun at the same time and cover the cost with your savings

Tomorrow we see the start of Primera Air at Stansted with AGP and ALC, would be interesting to see how the loads look, but to be honest I’m not expecting many to be onboard, the don’t seem to have the hang of advertising and the social media team from what I see are not doing a very good job, I’ve seen social media adds for AGP and ALC with good fares but no airport of origin, wish they would take a leaf from Jet2’s book.

According to pre-booked seats loads for the first couple of days have their highs and lows:

Malaga:
8/74
6/49

Alicante:
Full/6
15/14

Final loads should be higher than this because not everyone pays to pre-book of course.

I would be very surprised if the first flight to ALC is full

That was my thought, if it was full of press/marketing freebies Iíd expect the first couple of returns to be full as well. On the other hand if itís not full why would they block sales?

Also just noticed BHX to ALC is now starting in DEC/18 and is 2x weekly DEC-APR.
I’m sure it was due to launch around the same time as the STN flights and was daily.

BHX-ALC was only formally announced by BHX on 29th March for a December start, the daily flights from May are Malaga and Palma.

The only negative noticeable change in the BHX schedule is the loss of Boston and then Malaga dropping in frequency in the winter but it was never released as daily all winter anyway.

easyJet W18

Asturias and Glasgow appear to end in October, while Sofia does not return.

Small increases on Amsterdam, Belfast and Edinburgh.

Wow! EZY are dropping GLA-STN? With FR also out, the route will be gone!

There has been a Glasgow link since the days of Air UK, probably even before that. I canít see that Glasgow would be left unserved.

Asturias could become seasonal I guess. Iberia serve it as well, itís a route that probably doesnít need competition over the winter. I believe that is also quite a long established route.

Perhaps a decision to drop GLA was made in advance of FR dropping it, though Iíd have thought enough time has passed by now to have reversed the decision. The route is served from SEN but if it really did cease from STN it would be quite a shock.

Glasgow

With any luck it should be replaced quickly. Back in the early 00ís there were quite a few daily departures to both GLA & PIK so the demand is most definitely there.

Perhaps Loganair will add it. I canít see it fitting into any other airlines route portfolio, but as we know the aviation world is full of surprises.

To think PIK (of all places) was basically hourly at one point (admittedly a point when the trains weren't so good, when flying was better, and when a budget flight from Scotland to Europe basically meant self connecting at Stansted, but still!)

I hope it's good news. It feels as if FR have left some room for others...
