More detail, from the KMPG press release page:

"Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited and Monarch Aircraft Engineering LLC (Monarch Ukraine) are not in administration and continue to trade as normal."

Link: https://home.kpmg.com/uk/en/home/med...vel-group.html

I'd guess the engineering business is the most (only?) valuable part of the Monarch group, so the administrators would look to protect that value pending a sale.

Given all the FR pax that need transport in the next months, it is very sad that could not plug that gap.

Far east?

If there are any Monarch pilots interested in moving to the Far East (as DEC, or senior FO for rapid command) please PM me. More than double your pay (after tax), and now with good commuting options. Good for young families. I am not an agent, so this would be direct employment with my airline (which has an urgent requirement to fill seats). More info on request.

So sad. Purely from a pax perspective I can vouch that Monarch was a fantastic airline to fly with, modern clean planes, helpful staff and really brilliant pilots.

Hope that the airline is kept as a going concern, streets above other LCC in its approach to customers. Best of luck.

I didn't want to believe this could happen. It's very sad that such a proud name in Aviation has finally fallen.

Having left Monarch a few years ago, I can tell anyone now looking for other opportunities that airlines across the world regard Monarch Pilots with a great deal of respect. You are what they are looking for. It's no consolation right now, but before long you'll be back on your feet.

Good luck to all of you.

Airlines showing on the Monarch.CAA website so far for the repatriation flights to UK include Easyjet, Titan, Hi Fly, Wamos Air, Miami Air International, SmartLynx, Futura & Air Transit. BA code also being used, assume that's for the Qatar aircraft.

Absolutely gutted for friends and former colleagues, 10 wonderful years I had at Spotty M and at various times on Miss Piggy A300, the 757 and the minibus, it's also the place that employed me out of the mob. So many great memories, best of luck team.

Does he? Don't be too sure about that. Monarch pilots know better.

In addition to the Qatar Airways planes, looks like Titan Airways are en route to Gibraltar and Dubrovnik to pick up Monarch passengers (G-POWC and G-POWD respectively).

If I recall correctly, Monarch Engineering are responsible for Titan's maintenance, so they'll be hugely relieved if that part of the business has survived.

Best wishes to all!
We had a holiday booked for Feb, but that's insignificant compared to what all the employees are facing.

Sad times!!

Sad day for a once great company, 50 years with no hull loss. I hope the Montegazzas choke, whilst sipping their cocktails on the back of their Mega Yacht. You royally screwed so many loyal staff

Not qualified to point the finger, but it's a bloody shame. Good luck to all those affected.

Appears to be a slick operation (reference repatriation) considering the CAA struggle with a simple spreadsheet every month on UK airport pax figures.

Direct entries join on permanent contracts and Captains that are UK based would be on near the same salary (about 100k gross). Cadets join on zero hour contracts. Those are the facts.

Just off the phone to a close friend at Monarch this morning. Not a nice phone call. It's hard to believe and very sad.
