Qatar Airways going 10 abreast on 777

A very retrograde and uncomfortable change for an extra 32 seats....

Cathay Pacific operate between the points I need and are 9 abreast.....
Think about it.

The only blessing is Business will remain 2-2-2.

Nicely coinciding with their recent change of marketing tack from "The World's Five-Star Airline" to "Going places together".

Very close together, it seems.

They're only matching what Emirates already do.

Shame. I wonder if one of these airlines would consider a "premium economy" product with nine or eight across.

Qatar always had 3-3-3 in economy, but if they go to 3-4-3 then people will use other products like Cathay Pacific.....

The average passenger will vote with their wallet.
I doubt Qatar's passenger loadings will suffer. Complaints about comfort may increase, but nobody will care much about that.

I'd happily pay a little more for a bit more room. Sadly fewer and fewer airlines are offering this, except at a considerable upgrade cost.

I'm with you – I'd happy pay a bit more for a bit more comfort in economy.

Unfortunately the choice generally isn't available to me; when travelling for work I'm required to take the cheapest flight option regardless of routing.
