Would be interesting to see where SEN would be if they'd chosen Southend rather than London as the destination!
They may have done had the airport not changed it's name to "London-Southend" and marketed itself as such. Ditto Kidlington: "London-Oxford", which does not make it on to the list.



Surprised Gatwick is very low on the list, well served by train I think.
So LHR is well ahead of LGW despite it's allegedly superior rail links to London.



Generally, I respect Simon Calder, but this is a meaningless exercise. I mean, how many of Southend's passengers originate from Central London?
Agreed, it is meaningless, maybe a slow news day.

As for SEN, would estimate more pax originate from London than from Southend, all depends on how you define "London".

Likewise, Liverpool serves the whole northwest, and Belfast the whole of Northern Ireland, not just the named city.
Indeed, and LHR serves the whole UK.........
