owt better than nowt, surely?
good news - I had to go to ABZ some time back and was taken to the cleaners by EI/BA, good to have another option other than LHR or MAN.

At least the daily flight takes place around lunchtime - gone are the days when the first few movements were BA 737-200s and a Dan-Air 1-11 - even DHL have replaced the 727 with an F27, so no more early morning alarm call for the good people of Dyce.
Ahh, I love the crackle of a Rolls-Royce Spey first thing in the morning!

The ballpark return fare seems to be a fraction under £60 (inc taxes). I wish RYR all the best on their new ABZ route. However is a 738 (assuming they will use that!) just a tad too big for a daily service on ths route? Maybe the 737-200 will be the right size?
The ABZ rag is speculating that RYR is looking at starting an INV-DUB route, mmmmmmm, I wonder how long that would last for!!!!!
Roll on 4 April

The DUB-ABZ service will be operated by B737-200's as the runway is not long enough to take the bigger -800's. Also, there are no -800's based at DUB at the present time.

.....but BA (and others) have operated 75's at ABZ for years!
Down here in the South, we regularly see 733's, 738's, 757's and A320's at SOU, which has only 1700m (and is a bit narrow too).
Ok, I expect they are quite weight restricted, but a 738 (with all their range) operating ABZ-DUB would hardly be heavy, would it?

Air Europa have happily operated the -800s out of ABZ direct to Tenerife in the middle of the Summer for the past couple of years. It was their -300/400s that caused problems by requiring runway 34 when 16 was in use with a light southerly wind <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> .
