Jet2_738: As nothing more than an enthusiast and someone who probably doesn't even work in this industry, your comments are irrelevant, pointless and lack any substance on the subject of any form of a professional pilots life.
Sean Dillon: As I say, you're nothing more than a former disgruntled employee, who doesn't like to know (or maybe cannot fully comprehend) that people actually enjoy working at Jet2...

Lord Spandex, if you have a family where your partner works and you need to organise child care, transport to school, cubs/brownies etc.... Roster changes are an absolute nightmare! We are not talking an hour or twos change in report time, we are talking wholesale changes from earlies to lates or the other way around. Of course roster disruption occurs in every airline but not even close to the extent it occurs within Jet2. I personally don't have the luxury of keeping a whole duty day free of commitments outside work as I have a family life.

Jet2 - 320, 7 on 2 off certainly isn't the norm. In fact I've never worked 7 on ever.

It also does not mean that you will only get 3 days off after 7 on either, in fact my roster currently goes 4 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off.

Budar, lates to earlies or vice versa sounds awfully fatiguing to me. ASR and don't accept which is easy as those kind of changes cannot happen on the day. However, if, like Gorter, you don't have the spine to stand up then suggest you become a stay at home hubby.

Lord Spandex, you are a little presumptuous to accuse people of being spineless. Refuse wholesale changes I have done several times. My point is, a pilot/crew member should not be put under the pressure of refusing duties, at the end of the day we are all in it to make the company a success.

I thought your point was rearranging child care because of roster disruption.

If you've refused those changes in the past keep doing so.

Sorry, too stressful and I won't be able to concentrate on flight safety.

LSM your attitude is very condescending to your colleagues, I admire your defence of the company however you must be blind not to see the issues within the company and why so many pilots are leaving. I hope your attitude on the flight deck is a little less confrontational.

I'm not defending the company I'm defending my lifestyle from the company.

Shame you can't see the difference and think I'm being confrontational.

Do you think these issues will be solved by - pilots leaving or by pilots meekly toeing the line or by pilots staying and confronting them?

LSM, sorry if I've misunderstood you, but using such phrases as

" must be stupid to arrange things on a duty day"

"Spineless"

"Not having the balls...."

Could be misconstrued as confrontational.

Just my opinion born out of frustrating of seeing spineless mongs asking how high they should jump.

If you're not a spineless mong then I'm not referring to you.

I'm not being condescending, I'm too busy thinking about far more important things that you wouldn't understand.

What does it matter what type of passenger is down the back? Am I going to fly differently? Absolutely not. It's SOP SOP SOP regardless of who's down the back or even if it's a cargo flight. And these smug upper class business men of which you speak are good for revenue and fly in the winter - BA don't just shut down in winter, unlike some.

Jet2s hours may be family friendly in your opinion but there are NUMEROUS posts on here saying roster disruption is a major problem at Jet2 and therefore not family friendly. Neither is the random rostering. Ryanair or easyJet's fixed pattern (for those on them) at 5 on 4 off, or 5 on 3 off 5 on 4 off are far more conducive to a family life as you can plan your life months in advance.

Jet2 bans passenger for life for exposing Pinocchio tattoo on privates to crew | Daily Mail Online

Surely not on a Jet2 flight??? I've met a few difficult business passengers but I've never had one expose themselves. The business folk get on, sit down and get on with it. None of this rubbish.

I've a Jet2 question that some of you closer to the operation may be able to answer. How can Jet 2 cancel their 360 flight from Rome to Belfast on Thursday, inform passengers that they can't pick them up until Sunday and say that they are not entitled to any form of compensation? Surely they are liable for additional costs incurred?

Depends on the reason for the cancellation.
