They use DSA as a diversion occasionally but operating from EMA and LBA I doubt it's in the running. HUY would have been a base long ago if they thought there was a separate market to cover.
I
Anyone heard anything recently about tbe rumors they were looking to aquire a couple of 767s? That rumor seems to have died a death but with the economy picking up maybe its time to look again. With the 787s now being delivered there must be some decent 767s coming on the market second hand worth looking at.

Jet2 didn't rule out Aberdeen a couple of years ago, but not heard anything more since.
The city/area is booming presently, and forecast to continue doing so - but perhaps location (long flights/sectors) & catchment area mean it's well down the pecking order, if indeed it's on any pecking order.

LNIDA - I see a lot of passion and vision in what Jet2 do. It may not align with what everyone else sees as a business model - but it works and is profitable and seems to plan expansion at an achievable rate.

I see a lot of you suggesting new bases etc but it seems Jet2 are very slow but sure in their approach, what about expanding their existing bases? Surely they could be doing more at BFS for example?

Yep I also understand that the ALC base is to remain open next summer 2014. It just that the ALC based aircraft wont be flying to LBA now due to all flights on that route been upgraded to be operated by Boeing 757-200, so there will be no need for the 3rd daily flight any more.
There has been quite a few changes made recently to the LBA based programme for next summer 2014 season as its been decided that a Boeing 737-300 is leaving LBA for another base to be replaced by a 2nd based Boeing 737-800.

Jet2 at Glasgow
Saw today that Jet2 were operating two B738s, OK-TSA and OK-TVM. I know it sounds spottery, just wondered why the need to carry leases into the winter season? Maintenence? Or B757s parked up?

Seems odd fitting winglets to 733s when they have several 752 and 738s without winglets. Maybe the fuel burn advantage is better on these or the kit is cheaper. It is hopefully a sign that they intend to fleet fit them.

Hi folks,
Just a question of curiosity more than anything else. I'm regularly out of EDI on a Friday evening and there always seems to be 4 or 5 Jet2's parked up on the remote / freight stands. Do they really have that much slack to have jets lying about or are they there for a specific purpose (just a timing quirk)
Thanks kindly
Kev
