Boeing could have turned the 757 into something that would of sold for years shame they dropped it
In the bigger picture of things, the market the B757 was chasing was a niche; thin transatlantic. Transcontinental US missions could be done year round by the B738 and the A321.
Any further improvements would have required wing work and a new 40,000lbs engine, a sector which no engine manufacturer is currently active in.
Most B757 European charter missions can be done by the A321 and once the A321neo comes along, virtually all of them will be covered.
There's simply no market for a B757 in the modern world; Boeing saw right to cut the line.

No they couldn't. They put the -300 out there for three years and sold how many?

As much as I like the 757 due to its power and versatility, you're right in saying that there's not many routes (UK-Europe at least) that can't be done by the A321. A few exceptions include anywhere where the runway is short like JSI, but if the A321neo can address this then as you say the 757 will be redundant. I anticipate either 787s or 737-9MAX/A321neo to replace 757s on transatlantic routes.
It wouldn't surprise me if the only 757s operating in 10 years time are the 753s due to their capacity, but even then the youngest will be about 20 years old.

I must say my recent Jet2 experience on NCL-BJV-NCL G-LSAK was fantastic, the cabin crew were very friendly, the cabin was clean and the punctuality was very good (leaving BJV early on the return flight) The new cabin configuration is miles ahead of Thomson & Thomas Cook and the seats are actually quite comfortable 10/10 for the fantastic flight and ill defiantly be choosing LS again!

Who could that be?
Is it another uk airline or outside the uk?
Only airline that stands out to me would be flybe however I can't see how that could work as flybe is loosing so much money!! If they did then a whole lot of planes and routes would disappear

Titan would make some sense and there would be substantial savings to be has in terms of overheads, but what Titan do is special not the normal run of the mill stuff, it would be a good spring board for STN operations with hangar 7 and all the night mail stuff.

Would be a good move for Jet2 to buy Titan. As they both operate same type off aircraft B752 & B733. It would bring the royal mail contract in to been operated by one airline. The B763 May help jet2 in there long haul ambitions as well.
Plus jet2 having been leasing alot of aircraft off Titan this summer so would likely reduce costs.

I know your suggestion is tongue-in-cheek, but at the other people who seem to regularly and seriously make the same suggestion, do have a look at the airlines that serve ISB. Notice anything?

Winter 2013-14 flights started to be put on sale in early November 2012. Canaries are usually first on sale, ski and city break routes usually later
