see the following from the news section of United's website:
10 Jul, 2010
United Airways celebrating three years of operation.
United Airways celebrates three years of its service today. On the 10th of July 2007 the leading private airline in Bangladesh started its operation with its maiden flight from Dhaka to Sylhet. The pioneers of this airline are non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) particularly from Sylhet.
Starting with one Dash 8-100 aircraft, the airlines now owns two of these aircraft and two Jet Aircraft MD-83 through outright purchase and operates flights from Dhaka to London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Chittagong, Sylhet, Jessore and Cox’s Bazar. It also plans to operate to Jeddah from 29th July 2010 and also to operate Bangkok, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi shortly and doing necessary feasibility study for the Singapore, Male, Colombo & Jakarta operation.
Chairman and Managing Director of United Airways (BD) Limited, Capt. Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury said “Recalling many airlines have yield to the challenge, we definitely want to survive and increase our fleet as this is the right time to procure desired aircraft. We are in the process of buying one Airbus 310-300 and three more ATR by the end of this year”.
Since its inception, United Airways received positive market response and presently holds a good market share of the domestic and international market. In a span of just three years since inception, United Airways has established its brand reputation for its employment of latest technologies that meet international safety standards, friendly customer service, and disciplined flight schedule, reliable & safe aircraft.
The carrier plans to expand its fleet Sylhet to London and other Gulf destinations. UK and Gulf is the most important market for Bangladeshi airlines as one in two people who fly abroad goes to the six Gulf countries and UK.

Please put back in: Airlines, Airports & Routes

WHY MOVE TO:
Spectators Balcony (Spotters Corner) If you're not a professional pilot but want to discuss issues about the job......

THIS THREAD REALLY DOES BELONG IN:
Airlines, Airports & Routes Topics about airports, routes and airline business.

United Airways will be operating from Dhaka to the UK (Widely rumoured to be Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester) and they are currently in the process of employing European pilots (longhaul and regional) to get the new aircraft in their fleet operational. Various editorial and advertisements in Flight and generally on the internet demonstrate this to be the case.
Just as an example:
United Airways leases A310

Or if the SPOTTERS insist on putting it in their CORNER then perhaps they will prefer to see more links like this:
ATR ATR-72-212, N385FA, United Airways (4H)
