New Thames Airport

In today's Sunday Times there is an article about a new airport being proposed for the Kent side of the Thames Estuary. It quotes its chief proponent as John Olsen, formerly of Cathay, Dan-Air and Cunard. I have been trying to contact him by email for sometime now. Anyone know how I can do so?

He was the guy telling staff to buy Dan Air shares 2 weeks before the take over, as they were good value - and a lot of employees did!!

This has been done to death on this forum and every government for the last 20 years has said it'll never get approval.

Utter tosh and nonsense, it'll never happen.

It is tosh - all you need is high speed rail to Manston and Southend (forgive me ) and you can save bucket loads on building a wacking great new airport. Honestly, Bozzer's bored of being out of the press. And as for this quote from a former Labour MP for Gillingham:

Heathrow... is really the only practical solution to accommodate the demands of both business and pleasure aviation requirements in the future".
UTTER TOSH!!!!

How about Manston?
Let's see, we can't get the business at the front end to get the non stop Gatwick Express but Manston will be the answer?

This whole idea is just a story. In the UK it would take a generation to happen, so won't. The whole idea that you put a new airport into anywhere near the London area is comedy. I couldn't imagine LCY being given the go ahead today, indeed Ken Livingstone was looking for a way to phase it out over time.
