Great news for that airport, it will be good to see Jet2 adding some conpetition on the Stansted-Alicante route. Good to see the new Finnair link as well another full service carrier to add to the list. I was wondering how carriers like KLM, Swiss and Lufthansa have been doing at Alicante since they commenced operations.

This is all great news! Wonder what the new Volotea route will be?

I thought that LTN-ALC with easyJet was already 2 daily in S16 apart from Sunday. So is it just an increase of 1 weekly frequency?

With rumours that Ryanair will be operating from Frankfurt and rumours also that they will be operating Alicante, can't be good for the Lufthansa service.

Isn't a daily FR not better than a weekly LH?

Service increases to 2 weekly in S17, but that's not quite what I was getting at, obviously the frequency will be better for passengers but since Lufthansa have only recently launched these flights it would be a shame to see them be crushed by Ryanair.

I think that it Ryanair is more than likely to take over the Stuttgart route. Eurowings/Germanwings should take advantage of this and add routes to Berlin-Tegel, Dusseldorf and even possibly Stuttgart if viable. Transavia or Norwegian will increase frequency on Munich route or maybe we could even see Lufthansa launching Munich.
